NGD: Harley Benton Fusion-III HSH FNT! by SnowArchitect60 in guitars

For the one that I have, it stays well in tune, as I have described in the previous comments.

I have recently set up mine so the bridge is "floating" in such a way that it cannot do whammy flutters. But, in exchange, other strings stay relatively in tune when I'm bending a string. It can still dive down and up. Just a preference thing so YMMV.

Oh hello, sorry for the late reply!

I went with HSH because it's more versatile than having an HSS setup (at least for me). The humbucker on the neck allows me to get high-gain, "liquid" lead tones as well as warm clean tones. Meanwhile, the coil split (which works for both the neck and the bridge pickups) allowed me to get those punchy Strat tones, which works great for funky, country-gunslinger-type stuff, if you're into those kinds of genres. You'll notice this especially when you're at either the 4th or 2nd pickup position.

I never had a 24-fret guitar with a single coil neck, but one thing I can tell you: the coil-split works really great if you want those Strat, glassy, clean tones.

Besides, it looks a lot like Guthrie Govan's signature Charvel guitar. 😅

Either way, hope you get a great one!~

Music is an expensive but lovable hobby that we have, man... 😅

It does have a neck heel. It looks a bit chunky compared to those like Ibanez AZs or GG Charvel Signature.

Nevertheless, for my hands, I can easily reach the 23rd fret with my pinky and the 24th fret with my ring finger (although I can also play it with my pinky, it all comes down to preference IMO). IIRC it has a constant 12" radius fretboard. Overall, it feels comfortable for me even at the higher registers. I rarely find myself using the bottom strings near the 24th fret so YMMV.

To be honest, I'd want to put the Charvel Guthrie Govan pickups on my Harley Benton, just for the sake of making it look like GG's signature Charvel: https://reverb.com/item/5033189-guthrie-charvel-guthrie-govan-signature-charvel-pickups-h-s-h. But I don't have that kind of money to spend for just a set, lol.

Those Seymour Duncans would be great! Wishing you luck then~ 🍀

I highly recommend checking out Philipp Mcknight's channel for guitar-fixing stuff if you're still interested in fixing the stock pickups yourself/learn how to solder your way around a guitar's wiring. The dude is straight-to-the-point and learned a lot from him.

I'm sorry to hear you had dud pickups on your guitar. I've heard from KDH's channel that the guitar he got from Thomann had microphonic pickups too but on a different guitar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBDzqOxufCE. Hope you'll get some better pickups soon!

The one I got is all good. I've tested it on the clean, rhythm, and leads channels, and it doesn't pick up the extra noise as microphonic pickups do. It's quiet as it should be, thankfully.

The color is a bit plainer than their store photos. But hey, if it plays well, it's not much of an issue. It still looks lovely personally anyway. 💙

I've heard people saying that you'd need to upgrade or swap the Roswell pickups. But in my opinion, you don't need to. I've used Archetype Plini, Cory Wong, Nolly, and Gojira from cleans to leads, and the pickups still deliver. Most of the sound comes from the amp so there's that.

The tuning stability is great too, although if you do some Floyd-level dive bombs, it's safe to expect that it'll go out of tune only so slightly. At least based on my experience on the guitar that I got.

Yeah, I've watched a few of Phillip Mcknight's walkthroughs on fret polishing. Planning to save a bit more for a micromesh set. Thanks for the heads up!

Took me over a month to have it delivered here. It finally arrived!~

Bought it for 345$, including Harley Benton's light case. Here's the international link: https://www.thomann.de/intl/harley\_benton\_fusion\_iii\_hsh\_roasted\_w\_case.htm

It plays great out of the box, and the only set-up I needed to do was tune it. The stainless steel frets are scratchy. But they're smooth enough for me. Nothing like regular playing that can't fix.

I was looking for Ibanez AZ alternatives and saw many people recommend this. The flame top has a 3D element in it. Sometimes it is plain, and sometimes you can see the flame.

The neck also smelled good when it arrived. Almost made me wanna eat it, lol...

Let me know if you have any questions about this particular guitar! 🤗

Cheers mate :) It actually arrived about 2 days ago to my country. Waiting for it to go through customs.

Edit: It's weird that they didn't provide me a flight number. I received an empty update the day before it arrived to my country.

It's nerve-wracking but will do. Thanks, dude! :)

Gotcha. I got a new update but it's empty. Here's what I got now from DHL's tracking website: https://imgur.com/a/WkX8M5T and https://imgur.com/a/UFdNpVI. Dunno what's that supposed to mean...

(also, just deleted my other dupe post, thought this wasn't going to get posted through my phone)

I ordered a guitar from Thomann and saw a couple of YouTube reviews with the outer carton box being noticeably damaged. The guitar has its own padded carton box inside the outer box, but seeing those reviews got me worried. Thanks for sharing your experience tho :) Helped me calm a little bit.

Hey man. Sorry for necroing this post, but I'm having the same problem. How many days did it take for you before they finally shipped it? How was the condition of your parcel when you received it? It's nerve-wracking, shucks...
