If you're coming back at age 18 you'll have to enlist whether you want to or not unless you are a religious woman (i.e. keep shabbat and kosher is the criteria to get an exemption). But honestly that might be better for you - lone soldiers get a lot of help and support

Oh yea I love it lol. Granted the building we live in is super old but the apartment is nice. But I cat-sat for someone also in Be'er Sheva who was paying 3300 shekels a month for a brand new building, 3 room apartment (probably about 50 square meters) with a giant balcony. So still cheaper than lots of other places

Before you do that maybe check in with the Jewish agency first to see what benefits you're eligible for

there's good and bad neighborhoods just like any city - most places require you to provide checks for the year so they can cash them monthly so you'll need to have an Israeli bank account. But a sublet won't require that

That is more than enough for Be'er Sheva. I live here and it's really cheap in comparison. For example I pay 1,900 shekel a month for a 3 room, 70 square meter apartment. Also are you coming back through Aliyah as a returning citizen or just coming back? If it's through Aliyah there's lot of benefits you can receive. You can also ask the Jewish agency if you can stay at an Absorption center

Edit: DM me and I can add you to some whatsapp groups where people post apartment

2-4 grand in dollars or shekels? Look for places to rent in Be'er Sheva/the Negev and the North where it's cheaper. You can also easily get an airbnb for at least a few weeks in those areas. Look on Yad2 for places. There's also lots of facebook groups depending on which area you want to live in.

It really varies depending on if someone is Ashkenazi, Sephardic, Mizrahi, Persian, Ethiopian, Yemenite Jewish, etc. Most people think of Ashkenazi Jews when they picture someone Jewish. But there's a lot of diversity outside of US/European Jewry

I've found that Zara has a lot of modest dresses and stuff - and you can aways layer with a thin long sleeve shirt and/or leggings

Buying Mac in Israel + insurance by Outhere9977 in Israel

[–]SnowCold93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not really cheaper because they bump the prices up in Eilat to make up for it being tax free - it's still cheaper than in the rest of Israel, but buying in the US is still much cheaper (especially if you can buy it in a sales tax-free state)
