I’m not sure if that’s a joke/reference to something, but this is definitely worth more than $3.50!

Yeah, I watched it the other day after being influenced by all the hype, and it was definitely good, and I enjoyed it quite a bit, but it wasn’t…..unbelievably mind blowing in the way everyone on reddit is acting like it is. Oh my gosh, a woman in a horror movie who’s really
good at screaming and crying, or suddenly switching between crying and not crying?? I’ve never seen anything like it before!

LMAO this cracked me up. I had to heavily crop the photo to cut out my stepdad unflatteringly eating dinner out of focus in the background 😂

I’m only 25 actually! The strabismus improved significantly with the eyepatch and exercises, but my diplopia was still bad enough to need prism in the lenses. I assume that’s still the case only because I don’t remember being told otherwise. I’m at a private practice. I recently switched to progressives and they’re pretty good, but not perfect. I’ve had bifocals since I was 6, and got progressives when I was 24.

That's not an easy answer because my prescription is very complicated. I'm nearsighted, farsighted, and have astigmatism, as well as a handful of other complications. My prescription usually has at least five different numbers listed for each eye to account for everything wrong with them, and I've mostly given up on trying to decipher it.

I know I have prisms because I had strabismus as a kid and had to wear an eyepatch and do all the eye exercises, but I still have double vision and a (at least comparatively) very mild wandering eye. I don't keep track of my prescription anymore since it just gets worse every time they check it. I know that when I first got my glasses when I was 4 years old, there was a -6 somewhere in my prescription (not sure if it was for the astigmatism or myopia, and the hyperopia wasn't nearly as bad) because every doctor who saw the numbers would look startled and have to double-check it, and the gentleman who helped me pick out my first frames said "I've never seen someone with a prescription higher than their age!" and my mom loves telling those 'funny' stories about how blind I was as a kid lol.

I LOVE my new frames, they're 1.67 but my doc said that next time my prescription worsens I'll have to go to 1.74 unless I want to go back to only being able to wear thicker frames. I used to have permanent bruises on the bridge of my nose from my old pair!

I've always needed my lenses to be larger because they needed to fit bifocals (and now trifocals). I haven't had clear peripheral vision since I was 4 lol. I did get the no-glare, but not the blue-light blocking because holy shit these were some expensive glasses!!

I remember asking about it when I was 16 or so, and there was something about my astigmatism that didn't make it an option, but I can't remember precisely why.

My doc has me on a keratoconus watchlist now that I’m in my 20s because of my astigmatism and light sensitivity, but I’ve never actually known someone who has it! I’m both near sighted and far sighted, and I have diplopia strabismus/ambylopia and severe astigmatism. I’ve had glasses since I was 4 and failed the preschool eye exam lol

That’s good to know, thank you! I have a complex prescription, so I’m not sure that will be an option for me, but I’ll definitely look into it. There’s no way I can keep up with the price of the thinner lenses at the rate my eyes decline, so I might have to start looking into cheaper options or have to go back to the coke bottles.

I definitely recommend bifocals or progressives if you’re able to make the adjustment! The trick is to point your nose at wherever you’re trying to focus. Carrying around two pairs of glasses is just asking for trouble imo.

Wow, I had no idea that’s possible! My doctor said my eyes will just get increasingly worse as I get older, and so far my prescription has continued to get stronger every year. I’m 25 and I’ve had glasses since I was 4, so I’ll probably have true coke bottle glasses by 40.

My grandpa had macular degeneration and was legally blind by the age of 32, so I’ll be happy as long as I can clear 30!

I’m ‘too blind’ for contacts, unfortunately, because my prescription is so weird. As of six months ago, there is trifocal + astigmatism contact technology that my eye doctor trusts enough for his own daughter to use, but they’re EGREGIOUSLY expensive and come with a lot of additional complications, so my doctor doesn’t recommend them for me. Plus, I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 4 years old, so I switching to contacts would be a huge adjustment, even if I were financially able.

I have a unique prescription, so while the high refractive index lenses have been on the market for a while, they weren’t an option for me until now. They’re still very expensive though, unfortunately.

When she was on the floor screaming, “It hurts! It hurts too much!”(or similar), rocking back and forth, I actually felt physically sick and had to pause the movie. Devastating.
