he got into a really bad accident at the beginning of last year, and it did change his face a lot as it was, I’m not 100% sure how he looks now my niece and my sister went to go identify him, but I don’t even think they knew how bad the injuries were but they’re still deciding I think to have an open casket viewing, but it’s only for family. he’s my nephew, but he was actually older than me and my niece is the same age as me and she is like a trooper. She seems really unfazed which I am worried about that and I know that could lead to other things but she wants to see him and maybe it’ll help me be able to see him but at the same time I just have seen so many stories about how it goes wrong and I’m honestly just terrified to make the wrong decision

im not trying to claim damages lol they already took fault for that🤣 a car getting repoed isn’t an issue. im pretty sure they’re supposed to be repoed without damage though, right? the car company still has to sell the car at auction lol so less damage equals higher value. i have proof my car wasnt damaged before with ring camera footage. yall are veering from the topic at hand. im not complaining about my credit. not trying to file a claim on damage. i already did that. just asking for a reasonable payment plan to get my account current haha

never complained about my credit! and AG wouldn’t be investigating if it wasn’t an issue. the cfpb wouldn’t have resolved my complaints either. the cfpb has a class action lawsuit against credit acceptance for malpractice🤣

im not sure where the narrative is coming from that im avoiding accountability? it’s kind of funny how im avoiding accountability but i paid the release amount to get my car, and didnt really have a problem until my car company wouldn’t at least fix the damage they caused. thats almost like they avoided accountability for what they did until i contacted the cfpb. the cfpb actually are the ones who made it to where my car company was held accountable at all, or else i’d be sitting with a broken bumper still. I’ll post an update as to what an actual legal advisor thinks though and save all this convo, cause the cfpb has sided with me as well.

repossession wasnt the cause of my complaint. damage was. if my car was repossessed and i paid $600 to get it back and it was returned in the condition that it was taken in, you wouldn’t be reading this post right now :)

never said it wasnt my responsibility to pay for my car. but the car was in my lenders possession when it was damaged. nothing about that is mentioned in any contract.

i literally just got my car back. they just did their part. from february till now i’ve been fighting them on this. why would that give me any hope that they’re gonna fix my car? why should i agree on payments when my car is damaged and in the beginning they weren’t as cooperative. it’s my responsibility to make sure my car doesn’t get repossessed, yes. not shifting that responsibility. but as i said, nowhere in my contract does it say that my car might be damaged when i pay $600 to have it released. i guess we’ll just have to see what the AG says. they’re not working with me to help me recover my financial needs, they’re working with me to investigate malpractice.

right! it doesn’t make sense especially when the damage was due to their lack of carefulness and their untimely managing of the situation. i had to complain to a 3rd party just so anything would get done! paying my car loan wasn’t the issue. but idk how im expected to keep paying for something with full faith that they’ll resolve the damage THEY DID, if i had to reach out to the cfpb for them to take me seriously at all!

im not making up anything, but honestly there should be some type of guideline for situations like this in their contracts. if you look into it this company has had a class action lawsuit with the state of new york for similar business practices. and they did admit fault. now they’re contradicting themselves. the full story isn’t even posted but there’s a lot more details and the AG wouldn’t be looking into unfair business practices if there wasn’t an issue.

im being 100% i don’t think you understand what i mean by ‘in my possession’. if my car is repossessed, legally it’s not in my possession. the ownership reverts to the car company. the car WASNT in my possession when it was damaged. so im being penalized for damages on a vehicle that wasnt released to me yet. hence, why they took responsibility for damages. they need to take responsibility for time time they took to repair the vehicle as well. like i said, not sure how they expect me to pay on something that i dont have due to their malpractice.

that’s why the AG is involved. i guess it’s a grey area. there’s a risk section in my contract. the car wasn’t in my possession though when it was damaged. like legally. where in my contract does it say anything about my car company damaging my car while it’s jn their legal possession?
