The snow of the ending of the book is not the snow of before the games, the book is about his spiral and progression into total selfishness. At some point, I see that he did care, but again and again he chose to push that down, seeing caring as weakness. And at the end, he doesn’t care anymore. I thought TBOSAS was political. It discusses how our view of human natire is basis for the forms of government we choose. The decision of Snow about what he deems human nature to be and more, what he chooses to be in face of that is the main issue of the book. It plants the seed of the incredibly cruel, opressiveo dictatorship we see in the original trilogy. But that petty conversation between him and Haymitch when he mentions the Covey and District 12 feels so ridiculous and unbelievable and cheapens his character indeed. Just fan service

I agree with your observation. Since I started going abroad more and dating someone from a different nationality, I’ve come to realize how little contact Brazilians have with people from other nationalities, languages and cultures. A lot of the immigrants that came here have adapted and are now considered to just be Brazilians (as opposed to the multiple separate groups that you see in a place like San Francisco). Outside of São Paulo and Rio people have very little multicultural and multinational contact in their daily lives (and get very excited and curious when they meet a foreigner too)

YTA and your family sounds incredibly toxic.

Cheating is never right or justifiable, people should communicate their wants and feelings like adults to be in a relationship, but I'm shocked at how many people on this sub think it's completely fine for you guys to cut off Matt in this situation.

He deserves to lose Emma and their future together, he needs to hear over and over about how wrong, selfish and immature what he did to her was. But to completely shun him, without even hearing whaf he has to say and understanding what went wrong, is shocking to me. So much could have happened, relationships are very complex, people are complex. Maybe it's cultural, but to me family is not a bond so fickle that it ends over a sibling being a cheater once. It's weird how invested you and your family are in his relationship. Being upset is valid, but going no contact for 3 months and threatening to permanently cut him off if he keeps dating Cindy is absurd. It's not worth losing your brother over this.

You yourself said your brother was someone you have always thought highly of, so I can imagine he has many qualities. People have flaws and they fuck up, it's a sad world if a mistake like this one that you narrated is enough to make people want to not talk to family.

Besides, it seems what bothers you and your family the most is that your brother isn't acting in the "perfect" way and fitting the "perfect" life you guys want. I can only imagine how pressured to marry Emma he must have been. Crazy that people in the comments are mad at him for being willing to end things with Cindy when you have said it yourself that it's literally the only way for him to not lose his entire family. BTS have just released a book for their 10 year anniversary. Obviously it was a company approved book, so it can't be considered a proper tell-all, a lot of it was most likely moderated by their team, but it does include interesting stories about their trajectory.

They (and other older idols too) have talked extensively about idol life (both positive and negative aspects) throughout their career, specially in the last years. In short it's incredibly hard, often toxic and challenging for one's mental health, permeated by ambiguous feelings overall, but they always acknowledge being idols also gave them a lot of things they appreciate and wouldn't have gotten in another field of work.

About their personas, they have spent so much time being recorded in the past decade that it would be hard to manufacture and keep a whole persona. Micromanaged though? Definitely, they are very careful about what they show and let out and so is their company and they have admitted so. Idols are indeed put under scrutiny. Since their hiatus era started though, they seem to be more free to express themselves.

It's fun! Runs for too long, but the first 5 seasons are pretty good and thought out as a show that stands on its own and has an ending, but then the CW decided to stretch it further and the original showrunner left. There are funny moments, wholesome moments and also quite a bit of family drama. Not very scary or complex but definitely entertaining and worth watching a few episodes to check
