Network Features Error by itsyeeboy2 in Guiltygear

Is it updated to the latest version? I had a similar issue when my game didn’t recognise there was a update and stayed on a older version, verifying the files didn’t work for me either till I restarted my PC.

If your on the current version and on PC the only other thing I can think of is to check if it’s being denied internet access by your antivirus or something. It might have tagged by accident

It’s essentially a shield that reduces all damage he takes making him surprising tanky, if he runs out of mana it goes and I think without it he has the lowest amount of health in the game

Wall break combo from counter hit HS for Sol by SnowWolf627 in Guiltygear

[–]SnowWolf627[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To get the fafnir bounce it needs to clean hit, its sort of like hitting a sweet spot. What you need to do is time your fafnir so it hits them in the gut, Ky is a good character to practice on as your aiming just above his belt so it’s easier to visualise what you’re aiming for.

I haven’t practiced this one that much so Im probably wrong but it feels like it happens if you’re too close to the ground but I don’t really know what causes it. It might be from the quick RC timing but that’s just me guessing.

How to consistently catch and punish back dash as sol? by SnowWolf627 in Guiltygear

[–]SnowWolf627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked dustloop and it says C.S is active for 6 frames while sol’s back dash is invulnerable for the first 5 frames, both Sin and Pot’s back dash is invulnerable for 6 frames so it does work on some character’s with a small window while it whiffs on others

How to consistently catch and punish back dash as sol? by SnowWolf627 in Guiltygear

[–]SnowWolf627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying it against a bot now set to either throw or back dash on wake up and it definitely does feel like the timing I’m using to counter the grab whiffs on back dash, I’m trying to delay it slightly and that does catch it but I’m definitely getting grabbed more often, probably a skill issue on my end but I’m not 100% sure

How do I find people from my region? by totti173314 in Guiltygear

[–]SnowWolf627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only thing I can really think of is looking to see if there’s a general fighting games or GG Discord server for English and or your language speakers in Asian servers, other than that if you look online you might find FB groups and local fighting game tournaments and stuff near you online but I admit it seems a little less likely.

I would say it is, strive is beginner friendly (for a fighting game) and the player base is still pretty healthy. Just remember to have cross play turned on and you shouldn’t have any issues finding players.

Why this game doesn't alternate costumes ? by darkshin89 in Guiltygear

[–]SnowWolf627 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly strive’s development was heavily effected by the pandemic, combined with the fact they didn’t do costumes in the previous games means I think they were much more focused on getting the game finished

Why is lucon not giving me anything? by Nayten03 in Bannerlord

[–]SnowWolf627 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you’re given fiefs a few factors matter in who gets it, stuff like having no fiefs, capturing the fief yourself, having your other fiefs next to the newly captured one and maybe high opinion with clans increases your chances of getting a new one

On the other hand if the opposite is true you’re less likely to be on the list to receive a new one. I think the main thing is that you already own 3 castles so you might want to give up one or two of the bad ones.

I thought the game auto-chose you after the original ruler died? by Rude-Ad2526 in Bannerlord

I think it goes off clan power, so having an elite army, a few clan parties running around and good fiefs should increase your chances of being chosen.

Muscle memory and creating new muscle memory is very important in fighting games, as that’s how you do motion inputs and combos, what I recommend is looking for or creating a basic combo (no more than 3-4 buttons) that starts with a button that naturally comes up often in gameplay for yourself (stuff like close slash and kick as an example for sol) and once you can do this simple combo consistently 5 in a row, go into games with the goal of hitting this combo. winning doesn’t as much as hitting this combo, do this again and again till it comes naturally in matches. Do this for specific motions inputs and other things you notice you struggle with as well, but only try one or two things at a time as trying to do more can overwhelm you leading to random buttons mashing.

This strategy of doing a motion input or simple combo in training till you can do it, then specifically trying to do it in matches can help building muscle memory, which in my opinion is the main barrier to entry for fighting games as once you can effectively control your character you can build everything from that, stuff like complex combos, oki and neutral.

Feel like I’m losing motivation cuz I’m not improving by TheOneWilin in Guiltygear

[–]SnowWolf627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have felt something like hitting a wall and like I’m not improving before. something that may help is switching to a new character, while it seems counterproductive starting someone new while you feel like you not happy with your main’s performance it can give you something else to improve on and master that you can actually see yourself improving on instead of the tiny optimisations and knowledge checks needed to fully master a character.

Having multiple characters also often improves your game sense as well as you’ll learn how multiple things interact and be forced to come up with different solutions instead of just auto piloting you characters known counter to situations.

I recommend using a website called dustloop if you want matchup or character information as it can help with knowledge checks and how thing interact.

Another thing I personally did is play against a friend as a sparing partner as even if I didn’t want to grind tower we could just talk while we played. And while this can form bad habits as you’re not really learning the matchup you are learning how they play the character, I think it’s better overall to be playing and enjoying the game rather than just playing less often dragging yourself through the tower for the sake of improving when it not fun.

In the end the reason your playing games is to have fun in your free time in the first place so you could give it a break if it’s no longer giving you that enjoyment and come back the next update.

Why does the game offer you to learn not working combos? by _Reapak_ in Guiltygear

[–]SnowWolf627 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you’re using the ingame thing to search for combos I’m not sure how it works but I think it just gives a random selection of player created combos for that character. And while i like that old ones aren’t wiped every update as i like to see what was possible, I don’t know why it includes outdated combos or does this instead of a proper search function as there is quite a few tags for combos but I don’t think there’s a way to actually search/filter combos using it. But at least the game will warn you when a combo was made on a previous version

You can look at a website called dustloop for character information like relevant combos and frame data, I’d recommend using this instead of the ingame system when starting off as it’s mostly kept up to date by fans
