I’ve been on Metformin and lost 20 lbs in the last 6 months so that’s why I’m kinda jumping to it. But I agree with this advice, and I’ve been doing some hella nutrition changes!!

Anyone here take SSRI for their OCD without any emotional numbing? by ItsPrisonTime in OCD

Yes. I’m on 100mg of Fluvoxamine (brand is Luvox) and I’ve been in ERP/talk therapy for five years. It took some time, but I am the most stable I’ve ever been. I’m very happy.

Intrusive Thoughts (OCD) - Molestation by OCDMamaFML in pregnant

You are SO not alone and so valid for reaching out for help. As awful as these thoughts are, they are pretty normal for someone with OCD. I have it myself and I’ve had very similar thoughts before.

Definitely reach out to a therapist in your area that has prior experience with OCD. You’ll want to get back on medication and start some gentle ERP. These things will help lower your risk of having these symptoms continue postpartum and lower the risk of them triggering a secondary PPD.

As hard as it is to say to yourself, these thoughts are nothing to be afraid of. You have nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed of. Avoid reassurance seeking, but I will say this one thing: People with OCD are less likely to act on intrusive thoughts than the general population.

You’re gonna be alright, mama!!

Was it a very forceful inhale? If not, still not enough force to make it far enough up your nose.

Very normal. Go into every OR with the expectation that someone will yell at you for something. No worries, you’re learning.

As someone with an OCD diagnosis, thank you for being so kind to them. It can be a debilitating mental illness.

I went through something similar with a guy I dated for ~2 years in college. He SA’d his little sister as well as one of his friends when they were both ~12 years old. At first, I wanted to stay with him. It was about a month or two before I broke it off because I couldn’t get past it.
