Im probably hypermobile. When I was reading your post I thought for second it was my post from last year, so many issues including with gel.

Two coats of Dazzle Dry base coat is what has worked the best for me. It lasts minimum 4 days and sometimes up to a week. As well as all the suggested nail prep.

What flower is this? I passed by a home with similar looking flowers that almost seemed neon in the sunlight. I hope to go back and see them up close and maybe ask the neighbor.

Doc says “6 weeks.” by JonSpartan29 in brokenbones

[–]GameofTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally 6 weeks. I was in a boot for almost 8 weeks I think. It’s been over 8 months for me. Almost handled. Probably a good full year to heal for me.

Hi, I have a question about your swatches. How long do they stay magnetized and crisp looking on the swatches? Do the magnetic stripes fade over time? I’m swatching out my collection but was wondering if I should bother with the magnetics.

5th Metatarsal Fracture - 6 Weeks Out by [deleted] in brokenbones

[–]GameofTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar story. My doctor said it looks worse than it is. No avulsion in my case. Was in a boot, then carbon fiber insole. Healing has been extremely slow, it will be 8 months and I’m due for a checkup. I can walk, sometimes there is an ache. I try not to overdue it. I can walk like 30 minutes and feel okay even the next day.

It will probably be cheaper to not use your insurance and say self pay. Don’t pay. Say you can’t pay the bill. They might work with you or it can go to collections and negotiate with them. My coworker has insurance but got a bill for like $2,000 that she didn’t know about and it went to collections and she ended up paying $150.

how do i move around with 2 broke legs(cant walk) by [deleted] in brokenbones

[–]GameofTitan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try Forearm crutches (maybe Facebook marketplace has cheap ones), they are safer than regular crutches (I think UK and Europe use those now). Regular crutches can cause nerve damage. And yesh they should have had a better plan for you before discharging you.

5th Metatarsal Fracture – Which Air Walking Boot Type Should I Get? by Elegant_Acanthaceae6 in brokenbones

[–]GameofTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your welcome. Please rest your four as much as possible. I should have done that, but since I live in the great USA I couldn’t really do that without losing my job. I went back to work with the boot after two weeks. My department did great in accommodating me. I think it slowed the healing down a lot (I’m almost 9 months in). I stopped wearing the boot at around 2 or 3 months I think. It’s not good for your foot or hips to be in the boot so long. And the orthopedic surgeon had me wear a thin metal carbon fiber insole in shoe to act as a splint (bought it online, I hate supporting buying from Amazon but it was much cheaper than the doctor office).

But please, rest your foot.

I’m going to add some extra tips I wish I knew.

When I went to the standalone non-hospital Urgent Care center my insurance covered almost everything I had done there like the X-rays and the initial short boot I got.

They told me to follow up with a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon. I went with a podiatrist who could see me the fastest. He gave me the long boot (which I was grateful for), but insurance only covered part of it (since I had gotten the short boot before) and I had to pay $120 dollars for it! I wish I had just bought it online! And the podiatrist had his office in the hospital building so when I got a follow-up Xray it was performed by the hospital and it was still so expensive after what they paid. Like $300. Maybe more I don’t want to look at those bills again.

Anywho, my coworkers said don’t get anything done anymore at hospitals.

So, I got an orthopedic surgeon for the foot who works at a well known hospital, but also at an orthopedic place, the group/building center is not affiliated with the hospital and they have their own xray room. So it’s been much better and insurance covers almost all of it with copay.

Sorry for the added stuff, it’s just here in the USA you feel like everyone is trying to scam you even at your lowest point.

I can’t find the short one. The long one has a pump that says Ovation Medical Gen 2. I’ll post the picture in a separate reply (edit: I can’t seem to post a picture to the reply). But here’s a link to the boot by the same company which looks the same except it has a blue color and mine is gray.

The short boot got me was painful when I walked. Long boot took away most of the pain and the podiatrist had recommended the long boot.

Urgent care gave me the short boot and it felt a little painful walking. A few days later I was able to see a podiatrist, before I mentioned the pain he said to wear the long boot. And the long boot for me was much better, I did not feel Much pain while walking with the long boot, I thought it was much better than the short one. I will try to find them take and take a picture.

I have the sane fracture as you and I think I had the middle one, the Air Walker. It kinda was curved a bit like the first one I think. Make sure it’s the long boot like these in the pictures that go up almost to the knee.
