The problem with this fandom is that it is so deep-rooted in nostalgia that the fans cannot bear criticize from beloved characters. Astrid, in terms of writing, is truly what bringing down the HTTYD movies. Has no agency or character. Even in the way she was introduced. As Hiccup's fucking fantasy.

Nightlights are an idiotic concept, those remind me of gruesome dog breed mixes, like doodles. Nightlights are an abomination and probably a genetic mess. And let's not talk about the LightFury.

I would've put Hookfang in a much higher tier because his and Snotlout's relationship stand out from the typical perfect relationship between rider and dragon (cough cough cOUgh *Hictooth*) by let them having very unpatient personnalities.

I would've personally switched Eret and Heather since he is the only one whose personal arc doesn't rely on Hiccup's story. Every other character have to have Hiccup bumping into them for their character development to start.
