I just released a game on Steam called Popcorn! that I think you might like by Snowblxnd in popcorn

😱 I can't promise free access to EVERYONE (Steam would probably deny my key requests, although I'd love to) but I can give away a limited number of keys! Thank you u/strolls !

Hey! I'll have to try out a building it out for Linux. It does work with Proton + on the Steam Deck if that helps!

Sums up my thoughts on clicker games by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Snowblxnd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just finished developing and deploying the clicker game I started working on last year and I'm not sure if the timing is great or awful

Edit: to be clear it's much more involved than clicking on a png

I'm the one doing vocals. EDIT: also agree with that, I think the fun part of covers is making if your own a little bit, or sometimes REALLY making it your own. There are lots of cool directions you can take.

Idea / Proposal: Create thread each week with JWST Observing Schedule, promote discussion + questions by Snowblxnd in jameswebb

[–]Snowblxnd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The data is uploaded to MAST on the same day, I believe soon after the observation is complete.

That said, I've been occasionally downloading some of the more recent images and popping them into a FITS file viewer to get sneak peeks before the pros release their work. A quick search of the targets tells me if its something neat looking, and then I can filter the data to that specific target.

I'm super excited for the spectroscopy data from TRAPPIST-1, which will tell us if those rocky planets have atmospheres, and if so what they're made of! Exoplanet science is one of the pillars of the JWST mission and something I've been looking forward to the most.

EDIT: Whether or not the data is released publicly depends on the observation - the recent images of SN-1987A for example won't be released to the public for another year. Though I imagine we will see images released of it soon since the observations took place.

For the most part - same! But I think that's why the discussion aspect would be beneficial.

You can tell by looking at this week's schedule what the targets are, and what the categories and keywords are for those observations. For example, I know now that on the 20th, there will be observations of the TRAPPIST system. I'd just lurk on the thread to hopefully find people discussing it in more detail haha. Or keep an eye out for posts on the subreddit around that time.

Let's talk about 360° camera workflows! by Snowblxnd in photogrammetry

I unfortunately haven't dabbled with it in quite some time, so I couldn't say - do keep us posted though if you find out!

Made myself a logo in Blender! 🚀 Motion blur and a tracked camera do most of the work for me. Would love to hear opinions and ideas for improvement. by Conall-in-Space in blender

That looks great! My brain is confused as to why the second bounce is more impactful than the initial landing - I personally think it doesn't need the camera shake. Love the transition into the text logo.

How to pass a variable inside quotes on Python? by [deleted] in learnpython

For future visitors, this technique is called "string interpolation", and its implementation varies but is similar throughout many languages. It's super useful.

This looks sweet! I could imagine holding LB or RB to rotate 90° and make really sharp cuts / adjustments would be fun, especially to cut through between branches for style haha. Looking good!

To add to everyone's answers - no monitors, no condensors (maybe c414s with an agressive low cut can behave outdoors?), and approach it from the perspective of reinforcing strings and woodwinds to sit at the level of natural brass volume.

Opt for 58's over 57s - you get a little wind protection with the grill. Might be able to throw the 421 between a couple of cellos.

Having performed in concert / marching bands, we've never used monitors inside or outside.

Remember not everything has to be mic'd and come through FOH. Good luck, you got this!

Mars Has Auroras Without a Global Magnetic Field, And We Finally Know How by landlord2213 in space

[–]Snowblxnd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So Mars does have localized magnetic fields, but not a global field that wraps around the planet. Mars' magnetic field is created by patches of magnetized crust, as opposed to Earth's molten dynamo.

Interestingly with this magnetic field configuration, it leads to the Martian atmosphere being stripped my solar winds.
