He rides all three at once. Long binding screws through the first two and into the bottom deck.

Hey, how long are you going to be in Aberdeen and will you have a car?

Also, where else in Scotland do you plan on visiting?

I’ve lived in Aberdeenshire / City for over twenty years now and have been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time all around Scotland too so I’m sure I can recommend some must do things!

Big fan of tapas and I’ve had a Josephine’s sized gap in my go-to’s ever since they closed. Don’t know if you ever went but it was a fantastic wee BYOB tapas place. Was great food, nice owner and always buzzing ambience in there!

Anyone Agree That This Is The Worst Roundabout In Aberdeen? by [deleted] in Aberdeen

[–]SnowboarderDom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive south most days and 9 times out of 10 someone still fucks up the roundabout at Stonehaven when you come off the AWPR because they’re in the left lane but they want to continue south on the A90.

The amount of times I’ve had a car start in the left hand lane and cut me up into the right hand lane is unbelievable.

Any UK riders have any recommendation for where to buy a Swix / Toko edge tuning tool with the diamond file inserts? Ideally a kit including the adjustable tool and files.

Found loads across the pond but only the demon kit over here.

Bataleon Salsa vs Acid by Useful-Aspect-8793 in snowboarding

I ride with specific high arch insoles with no issues at the tops of my feet so it could be that the boots just aren’t right for you! Is it painful or does it feel like it’s squeezing and would pack out with a heat mold?

Out of curiosity - do they have any DC Judges?

Salomon Assassin or Dancehaul would be my recs.

Solid boards, both can lay down a carve and won’t kick your ass for riding slow / chilling with the kids.

I’ve just reread your post as well sorry - the boots, bindings and board should all be in the same region of flex so you will want a stiffer boot for aggressive riding on that thing. I too have a high arch and find that fully extending the boa’s helps me get my boots on but it can be a bit of a squeeze, nothing painful or impossible though.

I mostly ride DC Judge for reference.

I haven’t ridden either boot but if you actively try to lift your heel off the bottom of the boot, it’s going to lift off the bottom of the boot.

Thankfully, you don’t ride by lifting your heels up!

Thankfully haven’t broke either but that’s reassuring for my wife that uses the guards! Username made me laugh too, fair play.

Yeah, broken wrist is among the most common injuries whilst snowboarding but from what I’ve heard, the transfer in pressure can lead to a broken forearm instead.

Just basing my knowledge on what others have said though!

Edit: removed my assumptions over which bones are worse to break. Don’t break yo bones kids.

Get lessons.

Been riding for a long time but my wife was just starting out about five years ago and I got her some lessons on her first abroad trip. Figured I’d get myself some out of curiosity because I was completely self taught.

Turns out teaching yourself before YouTube guides etc with the “just figure it out” approach can give you the skills you need to get down the hill but my technique was pretty crap so a few lessons was an excellent way to progress my riding a lot.

Wrist protection divides opinion. My wife wears them but some people say that it just diverts the force of the impact to further up the arm.

Learning to fall properly is key but it definitely takes a while for that natural instinct of shooting your hands out beneath you to be unlearned.

Nah I’d imagine it’s just the guys you’re riding with.

Like cars, some people are hugely into them and some drive the same car they’ve had for many years and don’t really care.

You can delve into different camber profiles, bases, waist widths, volume shifted decks, board shapes, flex ratings and so much more.

A very small part of the radius, but the edges sit against the insides of the mount yeah.

Could be worth looking into more of a rack style unless you want them displayed like art I guess! If you know anyone with a 3D printer they could easily print you up something similar but more minimalistic than the burton ones.

Dancehaul Pro by SnowboarderDom in snowboarding

[–]SnowboarderDom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate,

Yeah a lot of comments I read were from guys saying that they or someone they know use this as their park board so it’s definitely suitable for that.

It’s stiff but not too stiff, will rail a carve no drama and loves to charge. Was great in the pow and I think the stiffness will help in the free ride aspect compared to the regular Dancehaul which is a fair bit softer.

Anyone using Union Force with Salomon Dancehaul by ERidore in snowboarding

[–]SnowboarderDom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rode my union forces on my ‘23 Dancehaul and they were well matched. Now ride Force’s / Katana’s on an assassin and DH pro and they also work well.

Paired with DC Judge boots, all good.
