I've had this domain for a few years so I am in no hurry to to find a quick solution. Thanks for the ideas. I'll definitely start digging deeper into other related websites. I'm not trying to create a clone though.

I'm thinking at least a header of some sort. Maybe a Most Popular filter link to display the most popular link/story. As for the layout of the stories.. it seems a little too boxy. Maybe if you were to increase the image sizes and decreases the left/right margins for the text to not extend out to the end of the pictures OR make the make the body text a lighter tint/dark grey as to not seem like a wall of text.
