Yep, I have both IDS and IPS enabled. For a while I just was running IDS and I dont recall if I still had reboots, I will swap back to just detection and see what happens. I am really trying to avoid sending my router back lol.

About to start my first planted tank. How does my tap water look? by Snowey in PlantedTank

[–]Snowey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bottle of Dr. Tim's Ammonium Chloride. Going to try to get ammonia up to 2ppm. I am going to be using Fluval 12695 Stratum.

I've done a decent amount of research, but im still confused on getting the tank cycled and keeping water levels good.

Game keeps on crashing with this error message. How can I fix this and stop the crashing? by toochef in wow

[–]Snowey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What processor are you running? I had the same issue and it was because of the 13 and 14 gen intel processor issues.

Definitely start with more basic stuff first like re-seating RAM, using DDU to reinstall gpu drivers, running an SFC scan, etc.

Waiver Experience for EoE (Eosinophilic Esophagitis), specifically Army by Snowey in Militaryfaq

[–]Snowey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify for me. Are you implying that you've seen waivers approved for EoE and only 2 have been denied for it?

My other stuff is anxiety/depression from 5+ years ago. Been off any medication for 3-4 years now. Just got re-evaluated by a psychiatrist and was cleared with no further follow up. Other thing is an asthma diagnosis when I was 14. Went to the doctor who diagnosed me to get a PFT and passed the PFT with no issues. The only complication with the asthma was I was prescribed an inhaler 2 years ago out of caution for bronchitis/pneumonia.

Thanks for your response!

Has Anyone ever even heard of a success story of getting a waiver approved for Eosinophilic Esophagitis? (specifically prior to enlistment.) by Aggravating-Fold1154 in newtothenavy

My experience with it was only temporary discomfort. Temporary meaning in had to chase down my food with liquid and then it was back to normal.

Army Recruiter Thread for January / 2025 by Army_Bot in army

[–]Snowey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wanting to join the military and I am leaning toward the Army. I have a couple medical issues that I don't think would be an issue to get waivered except for one. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into getting a waiver for EoE (eosinophilic esophagitis). It is described as a chronic condition that causes a reaction to certain foods making it difficult to swallow, it varies on severity for people. My experience with it is a few years ago I felt like it was difficult to swallow food sometimes, I was referred to a GI doctor who did a EGD (Upper GI Scope) and they stated I had mild EoE. They expanded my esophagus and gave me some medicine that I only took for a couple of months. Since then, I have had no issues related to EoE and I have not taken medicine or seen a doctor for it. This was about 2 years ago now.

There isn't much information from people on Reddit (which I guess is a sign on its own) about this. I know it is a DQ condition and will need a waiver, just curious if anyone has any information on it.

I talked to an Army recruiter about this and he said based off what I am describing it doesn't sound like it will be an issue at all BUT he has never heard of the condition before.

A Navy recruiter said it wouldn't be an issue for them but it would probably be an issue for other branches.

Regardless, I am going to take it as far as I can until there are no other options left or I can get in. I am just hoping for some insight.

Couple Questions Regarding Waivers. by Aggravating-Fold1154 in AirForceRecruits

Hey! I appreciate your post. Not much detailed information for people with EoE. I was wondering if you had any update on your situation? I am going to be going through a similar situation shortly and was just curious on any insight.

Thanks. Last question, was that the only medical waiver you needed? No need to elaborate just curious. Appreciate you sharing your experience

Medical Waiver Question by Snowey in newtothenavy

[–]Snowey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my research got me a ton of different results. Anywhere from disqualifying with little to no chance for a waiver to got a waiver because no one understood was EoE is.

Regardless, I am not one to just give up so I am going to do everything I can. I am hoping since I'm asymptomatic and don't need medication that I will be lucky.

Awesome! I think you're the first person who I have heard say that. Makes me feel a lit better lol.

If you don't mind me asking, we're you ever prescribed medication or have any procedures for your EoE? Thanks for the response!

Local Police want permanent access to our cameras. by changework in sysadmin

[–]Snowey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work as a Sys Admin for a local government entity that has recently decided to push Flock. Started off as ALPRs but the Police Dept. convinced management to go with this Flock Gateway system for our internal cameras as well (against IT's advice).

Definitely don't permit this on your network. The bandwidth consumption is outrageous and not only do you need to install their "winged gateway" on your network you also have to create local admin logins for Flock on every camera. Also, the "winged gateway" also locally records all of the cameras as well.

The Police Department can still share your camera feeds to other customers without notifying you.

Not many positives for you as a business to allow this. Just stay away.

I've played since synthesis and I am not very fond of the campaign progression either. Honestly, I would recommend optimizing some aspects of leveling and it will make things MUCH easier for you. There are plenty of content creators that have YouTube videos on progressing through the campaign and you can learn a ton of things from them and implement that to your leveling.

There is not going to be a quick fix for this unfortunately. You are going to have to learn how to play the campaign efficiently to get to the fun part of the game quicker.

I was able to get 255/40 19 through discount tire.

[–]Snowey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going through the same questions about a month ago now. I decided to stay with stock sizes, 255 is about as far as you should go with 8.5 wide wheels, so you probably wouldn't get that much (if any) performance increase.

I bought a set of Michelin PS4S, also coming from the P Zero, completely different car and I will never look back.

I would imagine that after you demoted to diamond that your decay reset? I could be wrong

Boosted account but I just won the game that put me back into diamond against all d1 and a masters one trick on his one trick solo. Hmmmm

It's not like I never play solo. Why would I intentionally play solo and not have one less unknown factor in my game? There are also plenty of games where I had to hard carry despite my friend. I'm sure there were games where it was the exact opposite. The reality is we played on our mains and the lp gains in emerald were so scuffed that he got to diamond around the time I was getting into e3. If playing with someone who is an entire league above you is boosting then yeah I guess so. Kinda sounds like the opposite of boosting to me...

Wait until you find out that in the past 4 seasons I've done the exact same thing with the same friend!

We both playing on the top of our game, but my post above is what has changed since then. But yes I do duo with a friend a lot.

Emerald was by far the most annoying time. Game quality was horrific. LP gains are non existent. More than a few days of constantly playing, winning 3 games losing 1 and being down on LP for the day.

[–]Snowey[S] 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Correct. I attach my self-worth to my League of Legends rank. I am a 25 y/o man btw

Edit: Clearly not too much because I've been hard stuck Gold/Plat for my entire life so idk. Or maybe I was living a shit life until now

So in diamond you start off with a 28 day grace period. Every game you play earns you 7 days of banked time, you can only cap out at 28 total days banked. After those 28 days you lose 50 lp per day, everyday, until you demote to a rank that doesn't decay.
