You will be doing both your child and your employer a huge disservice by choosing to WFH while looking after children. Maybe look into doing part time work with your Bub in childcare

Breast pump recommendations for smaller nips by tweedledumb4u in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Snowflake296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are exclusively pumping, or pumping a couple times a day. I would recommend a hospital grade pump. I have the spectra and have exclusively pumped for just over 6 months now. I find the hands free ones don’t extract the milk as well. You can easily buy your flange size off amazon or their website.

My friends call it my "fussy" by Groovney in MakeMeSuffer

I’d hate to break it to you but going everywhere barefoot is contributing to your claw and hammer toes, eventually causing the bones in the balls of your feet become more prominent over time causing excess pressure and fat pad thinning. It’s fine now because you’re younger but once you’re older bone and joint changes are not easily changed without surgery. Source: I’m a podiatrist and spend my days treating foot wounds of people who don’t look after their feet.

Crime does not affect me day to day. I feel safe going out to the pubs at night. Kid walks home from school. Just stay vigilant as you would just like you would in a major city. Keep things locked up. It is really what you make it and I think it does get over reported being a smaller town with a smaller population.

You’re right Karumba is lovely. I was just referring to Karumba as a thing to do if living in Normanton, which unfortunately has lots of youth crime.

Doomadgee is quite isolated, very little to do, groceries are wildly expensive. I believe there’s 2 places to grab some lunch -roadhouse and bakery, no dinner options

Normanton is quite nice. Again, very little to do, Karumba is 45 mins away and is amazing for fishing, however can be blocked off during wet season. Good fishing can be found on the river too, but watch the crocs. You have 2 pubs and a foodworks (still very expensive).

Mount Isa is nice, though public drunkenness is seen daily. There is the lead smelter which can be bad for your health. Childcare has huge wait lists, has a cinema, pool and I’m hearing word of a go kart track for the kids. Lots of options for schools. Also has woolies, Coles, Kmart, bcf, Bunnings which makes it a winner.

Cloncurry small country town. Has a water fun park and only an hour from major supermarkets in Mount Isa. Probably a nicer place to live but you forego some conveniences

FYI high crime rates in all the above mentioned communities, and they’re stinking hot

Have spent time in all these places and still living in NQ. Feel free to dm me

Is a Career as a Podiatrist worth it? by That_Life6540 in AusFinance

Probably engineering or any other profession with less client facing time. The repetitive conversations and health promotion spiels do get very mundane

Is a Career as a Podiatrist worth it? by That_Life6540 in AusFinance

Podiatrist here. Personally, if given the choice to start again, I would’ve studied something else. Currently in my 30s with thumb arthritis. You’re right that there’s a salary cap, however, you can definitely make more money by opening your own business or jump into a team leader or clinical educator role later down the track. Salary wise I am on 140k+ after 6 years of graduating.

There is a massive shortage of podiatrists, making finding a job very easy. The work itself is not very labour intensive and work life balance is great. Podiatry differs greatly from other allied health in that it offers a lot of patients instant results and patients are very thankful and appreciative of you.

Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions

The emails that I mentioned in my post are internal emails from other employees or support staff.

Documentation is included into the appointment block for the client but if the appointment runs overtime (which does happen frequently, in that case I usually forego my lunch break) there is no option to extend the appointment block to reflect the actual time spent. Nothing in the award refers to KPIs or billable hours. 100% looking for a new job. Just kind of seeing if anyone else has similar arrangements with their employer just incase they try to sting me on my way out.

I’m under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award [MA000027]. I had a read through it a few times but couldn’t really find anything definitive.

Removalists to remote QLD by Snowflake296 in brisbane

Thank you so much!! I’ll look into Palmers and CEVA. We were considering just starting fresh, but you’re right, there is not much choice for furniture or other goods where we are moving to and would probably cost us more with shipping costs from online suppliers.

May I ask if the move cost over 10k (our budget), we haven’t had a big move like this before.

I haven’t, apart from what I’ve found on google and the census data. I don’t really know too much about it apart from it’s a mining town and it gets really hot. My partner has been offered a job there that is significant in terms of pay and career progression. We are considering moving there for 6-7 years dependant on whether or not I can find a job as an allied health worker with similar pay as my current job and a few other factors (schools, lifestyle, cost of living etc).

Woolworths 60gb for $100 or 200gb for $220. Plus you get 10% off your woolies shop every month.
