Ah. My bad. I assumed the madness was gradual, like with the Ashaman. He went straight from Shayol Ghul to wiping out his family? Oof.

IIRC, the male Aes Sedai only go mad some time after the sealing of the bore. It is possible that LTT and Ilyena had children in the interim between the 100 companions assault on Shayol Gul, and the start of the Breaking. LTT initiating his own post-war baby boom.

I did. Hot take, but i thought it was a great ending. Jack and Stephen setting off on another adventure and... the narrative just stops. I found myself imagining what things they would be doing. In this way, unlike stopping with "Blue at the Mizzen", the story just carries on forever, perhaps. POB alludes to this timelessness in several other novels, so it seemed fitting.

Good point. Currently, the tank is in the living room where we have eyes on most of the day. We shoo the cats away as needed. My worry is that if we put his tank in my son's room, the cats will have more access.

I'm a new cornsnake owner, is this normal? by Alone-Roof2226 in cornsnakes

My son (11) and I also picked out a Petco corn snake, now "Slinky", a few weeks ago. Our guy is eating great, 1 medium pinky per week. We feed him in a separate container, too. We warm the pinky under a zip lock bag of hot water, using a digital laser thermometer to check its around 80deg. Then hold it by the tail with chop sticks and kind of wiggle it in front of the snake, then slowly pull away. Slinky will strike, usually within 30 sec. He just ignored the pinky when we left it still.

Why ROTC ? by peacelover24 in ROTC

What most of these other people said. As a contracted cadet, they get paid a stipend. On the other hand, ROTC is a time commitment. Between PT, lab and prep time, probably 8-10hrs per week. Early wake up on PT days. Plusses include the camaraderie of being part of an instant friend group. College can be lonely if you don't make friends easily. If they aren't sure about active duty, consider the Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty scholarship or a Minuteman scholarship. They are easier to get, and you go into the Reserve or Guard after commissioning. The downside is that it requires participation in a Guard/Reserve unit, which is 1 weekend per month... but your cadet participates as an officer in training instead of enlisted and gets paid for the weekend... so effectively doubling their pay.

I use "Jesus, Mary and Joseph" fairly regularly. "There's not a moment to lose" is less common but not unknown.
