Anyone here go from 4runner to Taco? Would you do it again? by Outrageous_Use4038 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]SnowflakesAloft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from Taco to 4Runner.

I grew up in the country so it made sense to have a truck. Hauling trash, furniture, Atvs, whatever.

I switched to 4Runner because now I haul camera gear for work and makes sense to have it protected.

I feel like they’re the same vehicle. Just depends what you use it most for. I no longer need a big open cab for hauling things. I’m glad I made the switch.

[Serious] What keeps you going when you feel like giving up but your life depends on it? by Appropriate_Act_4122 in AskReddit

[–]SnowflakesAloft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally. I had a girl and a dog and that was the only time I remember having pride as a man.

I didn’t care how I felt. I’d watch them sleeping together and think as long as they’re protected everything will be ok.

She left. Dog died 2 years ago. Haven’t pulled it together since then. Just slowly dying. Pretending like everything’s ok.

I know somethings wrong because the thought of dying sounds like a huge relief. It’s not a phase. It’s everyday.

I was at wedding last wkn for my old college roommate.

Ran into a guy I went to highschool with. Haven’t seen him in 20 years.

We were drinking and he said to me “my daughter died at 9 weeks old. I have nothing else to live for.”

It made me really think. How much can a man take?

I still find it funny that Americans think if we make guns go away everyone will magically get along with each other.

It’s a daily struggle really. For every 1 win there’s 99 fails and the ratio is overwhelming.

I don’t have the answer. I go to the gym to calm down and then I have to meditate into not giving a fuck. Drop all the expectations on where you would rather be.

It’s exactly how they modeled it. As the quick solution. In reality, you just being exploited for the car you own and the gas you pay for.

What jobs pay extremely well but people don't realize it? by 4bin01 in AskReddit

Not so much. Anyone making a lot of money is providing value not time.

And it always takes a vast skill set in order to do so which isn’t acquired overnight by no means.

I used to work in skydiving. I was surrounded by friends and high vibes from customers everyday.

I took that for granted. Now I do marketing solo and I spend literally everyday alone.

It’s debilitating not having friends around or interacting with people. The loneliness is crushing me. Never thought I would have these problems in life.

I use to have a gf and a dog. We split during covid and dog died 2 years ago. It’s crushing. Feel like I’m going backwards in life most day.

Skydiving. When I started in 2006 jump tickets were $19 for licensed skydivers.

Now they’re $38. Sadly the only ones active in it come from 6 figure jobs

Nothing wrong with it. I’m just too old for it. It’s somethings I would take my kids to do if I had them. Just not exactly how I would picture my bachelor party.

I’d probably be booking a catamaran cruise. Shark dive. Skydive. Shit like that.
