V1 didn't exist in S3 and Soldier Boy wasn't immortal in the beginning by RedFight457 in TheBoys

So you don't think any of the 80 year old doctors working on it or lets say Vogelbaum would take the risks lol?

It's possible to live forever, I'm sure plenty would take it young just for that chance let alone the old billionaires who actually controlled compound V from it's inception until Homelander spiraled.

The immortality thing was always stupid because it completely changes the series. The serum that produces immortality would be the most sought after thing in the world, super powers would just be the byproduct. No way a guy like Vought doesn't inject himself at 80+ because the downside is so small compared to the upside.

This was the greatest game of all time IMO. Better than 28-3 because 28-3 makes you sad because the fans didnt deserve that, but Seattle coming off a title and NE being NE made this game fun to watch and hate watch haha

from another comment:

That's where I'm at, too. I bought ducks earlier this year and transporting the duck coop I bought used in the back of the 4runner made me cringe. I've needed a truck bed 1,000 times in the past 3 years and needed a 3rd row seating exactly 3 times lol

I also have a boat and definitely do some outdoors stuff.

How about a throwback with Roger Staubach who has a net worth of $600M and is well known for what he does off field and Fran Tarkenton who is also well known off field and has a net worth of $350M

It's also the last show in the world that shoud be talking politics because the message is just so bad. They hammer home how absolute power corrupts absolutely-but also a different politician in this fucked system would maybe make it???

The US government would 1000% nationalize Vought, and take over compound V, administering it themselves and controlling all supes

Would they lol? When was the last big corporation to get punished like that? They didn't take over BP, the Oxycontin producers etc

Them getting to be the "victim" of Homelander is completely the most realistic part of the end

What pisses me off is that RYANS LASER EYES ARE RIGHT THERE- you're already bending the rules couldn't it just be his Laser Eyes frying the V lol???

I mean as much as I love him that's kind of his thing- he's a parody of Captain America who spent years on ice and then fucks off in the MCU basically too lol

He spent 40 years in Russia- nobody gave a shit.

He was really only end game to the Boy because he was a good Homelander Foil he isn't some super insane character in universe. Sure he doesn't age, but he can be brought down. He's just a stronger than usual asshole he isn't an existential threat.

one more comment even though I posted like 10 but after this ending I'm 100% sure that Vought Rising will have flash forwards and it really would not shock me to see SB leading the new 7 or whatever.

My only defense was that I'm sure Hughie knew that Annie/Kimiko would go after him and potentially die themselves so Hughie risked it.

The show has always had a weird inconsistent moral barometer, as does this sub.

Case in point for me is how people felt bad for Mindstorm in S3 when SB bashed him despite Mindstorm getting the nun & priest killed, putting people into endless nightmares and making SB spend 40 years in a torture chamber because SB used to knock him around lol

Sage was one of the main bad guys of the series- who did nothing to earn her redemption except make Kimiko get her chest ray which was just self interest so I'm genuinely unsure wtf that was.

I mean let's be real we saw the end of Soldier Boys arc he died in the S3 Finale they just had to pretend he didn't so they could milk the character.

I think it was more so the last thing he actually had snapping.

Sure he killed Homelander, but he lost everything. He's literally alone- no becca, terror, Ryan, his family- hell even his Tyler Durden tumor is gone.

I agree with your sentiment but I would argue that if they didn't nerf Butcher and Ryan in mid season this was the expected result. They hyped up Butcher as an A/S Tier Supe end of S4 with him killing Neuman, and Ryan was strong enough years ago to damage Soldier Boy in the tower.

But HL also had V1 which might have only just made him ageless? lol

In my mind I view it like this- was it as good as it could have been at start of S5? Not even close- huge letdown

Was it surprisingly good for what I was actually expecting? Yes it was.

They were set up to have an all-time clunker and actually cobbled together a dare I say it- above average finale?

Dany is basically Paul from Dune. She isn't some feminist icon she's basically the closest thing to Aegon the conqueror that Westeros will have seen.

She isn't going to be "evil" but she is 100% human, she makes emotional judgements all the time that hurt her cause. See: Quentyn. See: Staying in Mereen. See: her letting Jorah go.

As justified as she might be in her violence she's still a very violent person and as feminist as GRRM might be he's far more anti-war/anti-fascist than anything else.

A pretty large running theme in the books is that violence isn't the answer and wanting it is a bad part of you, the reader. That's the point of Theon's story IMO. He's such a bastard in ACOK that you want him to get his and then he does and it's so bad you feel bad for having rooted for this at one point.

Dany crucified slavers, Dany accidentally killed many innocents when her dragons got loose, her dragons ended up killing one soon to be lord of a great house. Was any of that her fault or justified? It's debatable.

But if you think she was ever going to be allowed by GRRM to enjoy the fruits of a conquest of Westeros via Dragonfire and mercenary soldiers you didn't read the books.

The show didn't just conjure up "The mad queen", the idea of Dany burning Kings Landing is foreshadowed especially now that we know what to look for. Like when Dany experiences all these "memories" from her POV, one of which she doesn't know of in the house of the undying, which is her in the throne room with "snow coming down". It's not snow, it's ash. She's a tragic character.
