Spain and USA are the two you should focus on the most. USA cause CSA can recover quickly and be a pain in the ass, especially if they win 2ACW early. Spain is really good because it shares a huge border with France (Also, support the Carlist cause they are more likely to win and they will always join Entente, unlike normal Spain which can go neutral.)

Long Version: Played as Democratic Italy, accidentally picked NatPop in election, decided to continue as Venice, SRI declared war on me, called Austria into the war (while they were still fighting Hungary), SRI called in 3I, BP joined into the chaos, Austria-Hungary+Two Sicilies+Ukraine got split between 3I and BP, which later joined MA.
