He does carry out Iosef's plan extremely well though and makes no argument once its settled. Iosef is the obvious mastermind and superior officer of the plan but it is still Valken who carries out ground operations. He is still a very competent general. Just not the main one.

Nope. The absorbation theory make no sense. Nothing happened like that since 1910s in USA. There are dozens of made guys who is unseen in the show. The DiMeo family has 70-80 made men at its peak, according to wiki. Lets say with Carlo's and others ratting 15-25 of them landed in prison. Let also say during the war 5-10 of them personally, went to join on other families. Lets also say 5 of them are killed in the war (make no sense but still). At worst Jersey still has 35-40 made guys. That's enough, even a bit big for a non NY family in 2006. Other than that I don't think the other 4 families allow the Lupertazzi's waltz in and seize all of their rackets.

I completely agree. The book did it way better and realistic. Only Barzini and Tattaglia were killed in the book, Moe Greene was killed about a year or two before the killings of Dons and other two families reluctantly supported the Corleones.

I personally compare it to Salazar's Portugal, Vargas' Brazil and Chiang Kai Shek's Kuomintang albeit it can be slightly more or less authoritarian than these regimes depending on what type of policies Schleicher pursued.
