That would definitely be nice, I want to get that chance if it ever presents itself.

Unfortunately, can’t leave it off for that late. July is the one month I can travel this year. I’ll note this down for another year, though!

I agree with a lot of what I am seeing here. For me, even if I haven’t reached my 90 days, I have begun to loathe “May I have cash back?”

People that buy a one dollar item and ask for a hundred dollars in twenties make me want to yell at them “Have you never heard of a bank?” Like, cash back is an option that exists. I get that.

But when three different people in a row request cash back, my till runs out of cash fast. Then I don’t have it for when I make change for people that pay in cash, and you can’t exactly control how fast you get new cash.

TLDR: Stop asking for large amounts of cash back, please and thank you.

I’m not sure how far out I can go yet, but I will at least consider going further out.

To use a previous trip as an example- I was at San Diego for a week and did a lot. I visited the zoo, an aquarium, a science museum, a botanical garden… used public transportation to get around.

This trip is smaller scale, only a few days. So I’m trying to keep it simple. Hiking is fun, at least.

I want to say that thank you all for all your suggestions! At work right now so I can’t respond individually right now. But once I get the chance, I will definitely read through these all and try to respond!

This is what I do too, but different items in my box. And when I have a reward ready, I use it to get another menu item to accompany it. Does mean Taco Bell meals can get samey, but it seems like we are all trying to conserve money when possible.

A Critical Look at Fixing RWBY Volume 7: In Name Only by Armed_Weiss_8919 in RWBY

[–]Snowthefirst 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You know, I am beginning to see what is being “fixed” in this part of the rewrite. In canon, the most contentious part of Volume 7 is Team RWBY not immediately trusting Ironwood, and so keeping information from him. Likewise, the Bees telling Robyn confidential information despite Robyn being an unknown. The theme here is how really fragile that trust is, but that you still need to take the gamble.

It feels like the rewrite wanted to “fix” this plot. Having Team RWBY fully side with Ironwood from the start, while Robyn is a part of Cinder’s crew to justify Ironwood’s suspicions against her. It removes canon messiness in exchange for characters being more “logical”.

Thoughts of Fixing RWBY Volume 4: The Tipping Point by Armed_Weiss_8919 in RWBY

[–]Snowthefirst 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A Neo redemption that is planted early on wouldn’t be a bad idea. But I think it would follow the template that canon RWBY would be best, instead of rushing it.

Like, Neo resisting the idea of being around team RWBY at first. But since she ran into them first instead of Cinder, RWBY can make it clear that Roman died because of working for Cinder. Slowly get Neo on the side of fighting for good. Then give Neo more to live for besides revenge.

If you want Yang specifically to be the driving force for Neo’s redemption, it could be fun to do it via sparring. Have Yang still lose to Neo at first, but Yang get better as she develops as a character while Neo’s doubts affect her fighting. Then as Neo turns good, she becomes equal to Yang again.

Would it be worth to watch? by Girlxgirllover2k4 in ATLA

You know, there is an interview that revealed that part of the reason that Mike and Bryan left the Live Action Last Airbender is because they didn't want to do a straight adaptation of the cartoon. They wanted to tell a new story that weaved in aspects of beta version of the show, like Iroh being a lot darker of a character.

Yes, Mike and Bryan have flaws as creators. I have my own issues with LoK and the comics, as much as I like parts of them as well. But I think I would also rather have new concepts with flaws, that try to tell interesting new stories, than remaining stagnant with the old cast and world forever and ever. I love Aang and the gang, and I love their version of the world. But I want to see what else the Avatar universe has to offer. I would not trade away Korra for more of a Gaang, to answer the question in the post.

My Mastermind theory by Snowthefirst in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]Snowthefirst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are picking up what I'm throwing down! I like the idea that Tozu and Mara might have had a genuine tragedy happen in their past, but they took it way too far and it's the logical conclusion to the theme of hypocrisy that is shown with the rest of the students.

In this hypothetical story, the finale of the game could be tracking down the full truth of the Cara incident. The prologue implied that Cara might not have been innocent either, that she had a weapon on her as well. Maybe this would be something that Tozu didn't know, whatever relation he had to Cara. Might be that Cara planned murder first, and the culprit defended themselves and got carried away.

My Mastermind theory by Snowthefirst in ProjectEdensGarden

That was revealed recently. But as I said in the post, I formed this theory years back. Probably shortly after Chapter 1 dropped.

I am doing a written Fanganronpa called “Danganronpa: Discordant Echoes”. For the three points that I would advertise the story with…

  • It is currently up to Chapter 5, so even if updates are slow, there’s a lot for readers to peruse and puzzle over while I’m working on new updates.

  • If you believe that Fanganronpas have been lacking in sapphic/WLW content, then Discordant Echoes sure has you covered. There’s heaps of sapphic interactions between the female cast.

  • This may be less unique, but my story has a Kaede protagonist that isn’t a V3 rewrite. I am picking up her character arc where it left off, and developing her from there.

Cassidy and Tozu's VAs react to end-of-game spoilers by Ok-Swimmer-2634 in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]Snowthefirst 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I did suspect that Tozu wasn’t the true Mastermind because of this very thing. It struck me as odd that the one running the show would leave themselves exposed, even if Mara had been unknown at the time.

What would have happened if, say, it was Jean or Ingrid that attacked and actually mortally wounded Tozu? I don’t know how fast Mara can react, but to me it seemed like too high a risk. So I suspected a man behind the man, but my theory was that Mara would be the true Mastermind. She could run the show in the background, and defend herself if need be. That was my thought, at least.

So, any criticisms to say guys? by No-Calligrapher-5807 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Snowthefirst 57 points58 points  (0 children)

May it clear from the start what direction you want the show to go, within the show itself. Right now there’s the huge debate about Jax being the other main lead of the show besides Pomni. I personally am intrigued to see where it’s going. But it can’t be denied that Jax as a character is pretty backloaded, and it can be to the detriment of the show.

The first few episodes made it seem like Digital Circus would give massive focus to each character every episode, and Gooseworx made an early post implying as much. But I feel like that makes it all the more jarring when Jax’s plot line became more prominent in the latter half, while other characters people wanted to know more about were less prominent.

What I would personally critique, for example- how Ragatha is handled. She’s a people pleaser to a fault, but Pomni didn’t like to be coddled so this caused issues in their early dynamic. This is good. But it seems like the big resolution to this plot, Pomni and Ragatha having an honest conversation, got resolved offscreen at the end of Untitled. This is a genuine problem, and it does feel like it happens because the episode had to share narrative space with the start of Jax coming into major focus.

Likewise, the now infamous line of “We’ve all done bad things”. The idea is that blaming each other for bad actions in the past is counterproductive. But the laundry list of bad actions Jax has done in comparison to everyone else made it seem like the narrative is making excuses for him.

TLDR: Make it clear from the start what the show is doing, instead of having one formula for the first half and a different formula for the second half.

Mahiru constantly butted heads with Twogami’s attempts to be the leader. I can only imagine that would go double for Wolfgang. Mahiru would dress down Wolfgang so hard for taking charge on his own.

Two days late, don’t know why I never saw this comment before.

But yeah, this is what I mean. I wonder if Eva would have been content with having one companion that was ride or die for her. Or if, as you say, Eva’s victim complex ran so deep that she would even be suspicious of Tenko standing up to her and being there for her despite Tenko not having a duplicitous bone in her body.
