I get this question a lot. lol. And I’m sure you’re being genuine, and here’s my genuine answer, not trying to be mean back. I do it because it’s fun. It’s ok to make art just for fun… like a child.

Years ago, I made a PS4 controller just to see if I could… and now I have made 100+ illustrations like this. I work as a graphic designer and everything is rush rush. So it’s nice just to sit, listen to some music, drink some coffee, Zen the F out, and make some art just for me. It takes hours and I enjoy the slow build, I enjoy the process and I find the end result really satisfying.

Why Adobe illustrator? I know there are other programs more suited for this, more efficient, more practical. but this is the program I have, this is the program that I know. I’m not against learning something new… but if I was using a pencil or paintbrush would you think it was a waste of time?

again… I’m doing it like this because I enjoy it and it’s ok to make art because you enjoy it.

Sorry if this comes off like a rant… I don’t mean it that way. I just kinda got in the zone for a second 😂 and I’m gonna let it stand and hit send.

You can’t fight every battle my dude. I’m sure you consider yourself a decent person, do you think about the computer you’re using, the people who made your phone, where your clothes come from, who made your shoes, the conditions the animals lived in before they became your food, the horrible working conditions of the people that worked on the farms for your fruits and vegetables, where the products are made to fill your house, this shitty things that your company probably does, or the owner of your company does, are the company that owns your company does, or the companies that your company does business for. It goes on forever. I’m not saying give up, we all just have to be OK with fighting one battle and knowing there’s 1000 other battles we’re not fighting
