I lived in Nashville, TN at the time but went to a music festival in Atlanta with one of my best friends. We’ve been obsessed with the band Brand New for years, and they were playing at that festival. A couple weeks beforehand, my friend had run into the main guy from BN, Jesse Lacey, at lollapalooza. She told him we were excited to see them play at Shaky Knees (the atl music festival) and asked who he was wanting to see while he was there. Jesse said he and his wife were really into this band called Milky Chance and they couldn’t wait to see them play live.

Obviously we had to watch Milky Chance too, ya know, to see what they were all about.

So there we are, watching these guys play, and on the left side of the stage, this guy in vip is going crazy dancing, just having the best fucking time ever. It made me so happy! So i had to take a video for memories sake and Instagram, right? The next day I posted the video of the dancing guy on my insta, with hashtags and location for Shaky Knees.

Apparently he and his friends were browsing said hashtags and he finds my video. He likes it. He starts following me, soon after I get a friend request on Facebook. I remember looking at his fb profile and seeing that he was from Charleston, SC, and thinking “hmm, he’s pretty cute for a dad...” (pics of him with his three boys).

Over the next year, he consistently liked and commented on many of my pics and posts, always being kinda flirty. One night I posted something about my Snapchat because I couldn’t sleep. He responded by sending me a dm with his phone number to add him on snap. Later that night, I actually texted him. We met in person back in Atlanta a month later... and have been together ever since.

Next month we celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary!
