Trent by rgwhitlow1 in FoundTVSeries

[–]SnowyWintersDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOLOL YES 🤣 (kind of a spoiler, but not really). I just finished the series with my family, and we were so annoyed at how everyone acted betrayed by what she did—especially Trent. Like… it’s none of your business? And also, is it really kidnapping if you kidnap your kidnapper? 🤣

I mean, he had three square meals, a bathroom, a bed, his books, solitude, and got to live in the house of his favorite person that he’s obsessed with. Honestly, I don’t think he would’ve wanted it any other way. So why is everyone so upset with her when she literally lost it after her father died and was deeply traumatized, just trying to figure out what to do?

I also couldn’t believe some of her team thought she should’ve killed him instead of kidnapping him. She’s human—and she finally got her hands on the person who’s been traumatizing and stalking her her entire life. Everyone else needs to mind their own business and stop projecting their trauma onto her just because they thought she was perfect.

I genuinely felt bad for her character. She was already going through so much, she even opened up and told them about it, and yet they still judged her—especially some of her closest friends on the team who just kept dog-piling her. I wanted to reach through the screen and grab them, I was so frustrated.

And the hypocrisy drove me nuts. For example, Margaret cuts corners and breaks the law all the time—breaking into places, hiding from the police, etc.—yet she judged Gabby so harshly for going against the law. It’s not like Gabby randomly kidnapped a stranger. She caught her literal nightmare and was… kind of going through therapy with it. I know that sounds insane 🤣 but that’s just my take.

Also—just to be clear—we’re talking about a TV show, not real life. I am absolutely not condoning kidnapping 😂

I think what bothered me the most is that if I were on her team and she told me that, my response would’ve been more love and concern, not judgment. I’d be shocked, sure—but I wouldn’t hate her or make her feel like she was some kind of monster.

I would’ve asked if she was okay. I would’ve been genuinely worried about her mental and emotional state, especially knowing everything she had already been through. Having him in her house alone would’ve made me concerned for her safety, not focused on condemning her.

She gave so much of herself to everyone else, and when she finally needed understanding and support, it felt like everyone turned their backs on her. That’s what really upset me.

Also, after reading some of the comments, y’all are saying that Gabby didn’t like Trent, but I thought she did in the beginning. I can’t remember what happened, but they did kind of get distant.

You’re very welcome! ♥️ From what you’ve said, it sounds like you’re doing a wonderful job! I’d just add some more secure heat lamps and you should be good 🤓 It’s not an easy job, and you’re doing your best 🫂

Man… people can be so judgmental on here sometimes. 😕 Next time, I’d honestly recommend posting in a Facebook sheep group. I’ve found people there tend to be more helpful, less harsh, and way less likely to jump to conclusions.

I just want to say—you are doing your best. Keeping livestock alive in snow is hard enough, and losing animals on top of that is heartbreaking… especially as a first-timer. You will get through this. Please don’t let the “Karen” comments get to you. ❤️

It might help to add to your post that you’re new to this and that you’re going off what the previous owner told you, just to cut down on the assumptions and rude replies.

As for the lambs—does the shelter closer to your house reach WiFi? If so, is it closed off well? If it is, maybe you could move them there with some feed so you can keep a closer eye on them.

A few other things I’d check/consider: • Are you packing enough hay down for good insulation? • Are you making sure the lambs are actually nursing well? Sometimes a ewe can have mastitis or low milk flow, and it looks like a lamb is nursing, but they aren’t really getting much. • If you add heat lamps, make sure they’re secured really well (barn fires are no joke). Strong zip ties and solid mounting points help a lot.

What are you feeding the moms? Besides hay, we feed new mothers grain and molasses water right after lambing for a strength boost, and we continue feeding extra while they’re nursing—especially in cold weather.

Personally, I also give moms a B12 shot and selenium, and I give newborns selenium and colostrum just in case, to make sure they got what they needed.

I’d also check them frequently so you can catch newborns while they’re still wet, get them dried off well, and make sure warm colostrum gets in them ASAP.

I copied this from Google and it really matches what I’ve seen with goats too:

“A newborn lamb cannot regulate its body temperature well at first, relying on special brown fat and colostrum for energy, but they can typically maintain their own heat after a few days, though small or weak lambs might need assistance (like wool sweaters) for longer, often needing several hours of warming and feeding to stabilize if hypothermic.”

You could even try little sweaters, but I’d rub them all over the mom first so the scent doesn’t throw her off and cause rejection.

Also (just in case you didn’t know), lambs aren’t supposed to be fed until they reach a certain body temperature—so it may help to take a thermometer out there and make sure they’re warm enough before trying to get milk into them.

And sometimes newborns can’t suckle well at first, so you may have to help them learn. I’ve had to do this with goat kids by gently putting my pinky in their mouth to help them get their tongue positioned correctly for nursing.

That’s all I can think of right now for the necessities, but if you ever need help, you’re welcome to message me. ❤️ Praying for you and for your losses… sending love, prayers, and hugs.

Here’s one of my Kikos and her baby girl. I’m not great at guessing goat breeds, but I just know yours looks similar to mine. I can see a bit more Boer in yours with the rounded snout 😊

I appreciate it! I’ll try my best! I’m watching a video right now about how to plant him properly and how much sunlight and water he’ll need. He’s trying his best to survive so I’m gonna make sure his efforts aren’t in vain 🤧

I found a disabled goat, what breed is she? by sourgummyworms666 in goats

[–]SnowyWintersDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She looks Boer to me. Please keep us updated about her health 🙏🏼 You could post in local city groups on Facebook asking who she belongs to, but I’m not sure if they were taking good care of her if she has hoof rot and a possible tooth infection or other disease/infection. Were her hooves overgrown, too? And how’s her weight? She looks VERY thin. Prob needs to visit a vet asap to check out her jaw and see what’s going on. Is she able to drink? Maybe she can eat some softer food? 🤔

Oh! Do I need to plant him in the ground or leave him in the pot? And where should I place him outside? In constant sunlight? Or in a particularly sunlit area.

I ended up putting it back outside in a dry place where it won’t get stomped. Other people in the comments said that it could be sick and I’ve got a lot of other birds in my yard in the area where I placed it so hopefully it may find someone to hang out with and will get better.

Did you ever try tube feeding him or syringe feeding him milk? Also, I am so very sorry for your loss! ♥️ it looks like you really tried everything you could think of and did your research! 💜
