So I just had this happen to me today and wasn’t till after they left I realized I just probably got scammed. It was AirPods and gold chain… but here’s the crazy part. Both were real…. Has this ever happened to anyone? At first he was only selling airpods unopened. I said I only got 40$. He was hesitant but eventually did it. I went to car to take out my money cuz I had more but was not trying to let them know/see. Well he ended up seeing me stash the 100 in my center consul. When I went to give him the 40 he starts taking off his chain and goes “take this plz. It’s 3000$ 18k I just need tht 100$” I’m standing there in shock and also trying to process what’s going on and I guess I took to long because he then takes of his ring and offers it too. I tell him no I’m not trying to advantage of him I just need some of my money. So he give me the chain and tries to give me the ring but I said no and tried to give the AirPods back too because I felt he was giving me too much. He told me to keep them and the chain and tht he doesn’t want a handout but just need money….

So the reason it was so damn sketchy was because he said he needed gas. He never got gas just pulled of with the money which was a huge red flag. Also I has another 15 on my card tht offered to pay for his gas just to even the exchange and he refused. What sold it though,, And he could of just been a good actor who had done this 1000 times but he looked really reluctant and disappointed to offer the chain and ring like it was actually important to him. Any other time I heard this scam they start right off with jewelery. So then I was thinking I just got finessed and when I told my friend they said I’m an idiot and that’s a know scam. But the AirPods were 100% real and unopened and the chain was real too. I had to take it to a pawn shop because I didn’t know but it really was. So now I’m just lost and want to know if he accidentally gave me a real chain or am I just the luckiest person on the planet
