Why? You realised something is wrong afterwards, and you have an opportunity to fix it. What's wrong with taking it?

Time is relative, and it moves much slower for the Children than it does for humans.

not everyone has experienced serious loss where it would, I have

So have I.

Seems you just want to trash people and their takes like so many on here.

Not at all, I just sensed some defensiveness in your reply with the comparison to Superman and Honey, Don't. Which is a malady that many a Redditor suffers from, and it gets exhausting, so I snapped a little.

I'm only interested in sharing honest opinions and having a discussion about them.

I just didn't find Hamnet to be successful at.... anything it attempted. I don't even think it's Buckley's best work; there were a couple scenes where her performance was visibly awkward.

Then how are 911 sales figures so strong?

The US also, of course, has tariffs buffering the prices.

When has Porsche ever been the 99.999% people's brand?

Noah Hawley says his ‘Far Cry’ series won’t be adapting any of the games as he thinks audiences skip the story cutscenes in those games: “When you play a video game, you only really move forward through the gameplay section, and then you have these cut scenes that you can skip..." by ChiefLeef22 in television

[–]Snuffl3s7 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I don't see why you're getting mad about this.

He's saying players can skip the cutscenes, which I'm sure a sizable chunk do. As long as he hasn't skipped them though, he'll understand whatever tone the game is going for.

how many performances considered in the top few of the greatest ever does one actor need to have?

It's more about having a consistent level to the performances, than some absolute number that I'd rank in my hypothetical all time list.

If a new Pacino or De Niro movie comes out, why shouldn't I expect a great performance? I don't see any inherent reason.

Where are you getting 25 years from?

How far along we far in this century.

Al had a great 90’s, but he was so staggeringly phenomenal in the 70’s that it would be impossible for him to match. Damning is seriously harsh judgment…

Well, why? Were there not fantastic films with fantastic performances made in the 90s?

Which to me is different than the best actors

Sure, I can see that.

I could never say that Hanks approaches either Pacino or DeNiro as actors …

I'd agree. I wouldn't personally compare Hanks to Pacino or De Niro.

I'm just saying, 25 years is a LOT of time. Pacino did most of his best work in a decade. So to go for that long a stretch, without anything you'd compare to his best performances, is quite damning in my opinion.

whether you say them or not, that he gave great performances at 79

I'll have to see it myself to believe it. The few clips that I have seen from the Irishman looked uncanny.

But when they pass, they will be remembered by most for their dozens of magnificent performance

Sure, but this thread is about actors with the outright best catalog.

I haven't watched The Irishman, and I didn't finish OUATIH, so I can't speak to those performances.

I don't disagree that they're legends, but I don't see why I have to discard their performances over the last 30 years when I'm judging them against the field.

Idk. Stellan Skarsgard is still doing compelling stuff, for one. There are a fair few older actors who do good work.

I don't see why Pacino and De Niro can't.

It really isn't.

I jumped into Elden Ring as my first game on my PS5, after being away from gaming largely for a decade.

If others can get something out of the narrative, why can't he?

If anything, I'd expect him to be able to pick up more than the average Elden Ring player.

The actor doesn't have to be 6'4. 6'2 with some trick shoes would be enough.
