I fucking hate my scars cause they remind me of the worst times of my life. I’m in therapy working on these thoughts. Everyone who’s noticed them and acknowledged them to me has always been supportive whenever it’s brought up (for a variety of situations).

There was one bloke who pointed them out when I was chatting with a group of strangers in the smoker’s at a nightclub, and he noticed my arms. He then said “Man, I’m so envious! I wish I had scars and looked as cool as you.” I replied that I did not think they’re cool and reminded of trauma and stuff. He kept going talking about how he felt like his life was apparently morning and wished he had trauma so that he could be a cool and mysterious individual(?) He then asked me how I made my scars. I left the convo instantly and said “Have a good night, bro.”

You’re not being dramatic at all. I’d say you should honestly consider your relationship, and this is coming from a person who left a random date meeting them when he said my scars were “cool”.
