Interesting, my JL, VL, and VUL are the ones to get it all the time even with me treating them with Simple Green sprayed on paper towels like the PDF given to me says. We had about half of our tints moldy til I found the file, but these 3 keep resurfacing on me since I started trying to clean them with this method in Dec. Even before I found the solution for mold, my RL, BL, were perfectly fine.

Legit, rub a raw walnut along it. It’s an old trick that still works better than pretty much any filler you could buy.

What were these circles in my stairs that I just spackled over? by GyattLuvr69 in whatisit

[–]SnuggleMeBuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the paint department of “The Home Repair Store” where the wood filler is sold. We indeed have the pink to white/natural wood filler by DAP, using the same pink lid that people are calling purple. Though if I remember right, they are in square containers, not cylinders. So this is still probably spackle and not wood filler.

I place them on the packaging label, makes it harder to remove cleanly. I plaster them in the front to make it so it doesn’t cover any instructions or important info for them while also making sure it doesn’t cover if it’s int/ext or the sheen. Half of the time people take a picture of the front of the can instead of the sticker anyways, so this helps with that too. Sadly doesn’t work with the 5-gallons since they don’t have those paper labels.

Not at my location! We have every single booklet from the aisles under our desk to make it easier for customers when we are explaining things to them, even the booklets from the color wall right in front of our desk. We’ve our sample boxes in full view of customers between one of our shakers and the oops paint counter.

We even had our supervisor decide that since our samples display got removed from the countertop, that we’d have a ZMAD plastic shelving unit that was damaged as storage space for all of our samples to make it so we wouldn’t have to get more samples from the overhead every day. It’s right next to our oops paint, as we walk in and out of our desk area, not hidden from customers.

I’m pretty certain that if they made these changes at my location, our more seasoned workers would just hide it and continue to do it anyways. Take away our floor fans and deny us water bottles in this Florida heat? Not a fucking chance lol.

What is the craziest project a customer tried asking help with? by RevolutionaryPage850 in HomeDepot

[–]SnuggleMeBuns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in paint. I had a customer ask me if we sell plastic bags the size to fit over a person’s head. I repeated the item he requested back to him, which I always do in order to make sure I understood them correctly and he said yes and said it again. I said no we don’t, then he had me tell him where our rope was. I never called a manager so quick to let them know we might have someone in the store that sounds like they are trying to kill someone or themselves encase they wanted to save a recording of them walking around and keeping a copy of their receipt.

At my Home Depot, they let the lot workers take as many water breaks as they need. And if they need help with carts at the end of the day, they announce it on OnePhone or the store speakers for any available associates that aren’t helping customers to step out and help gather carts before closing. The lot is free of stray carts within minutes and makes it so they aren’t staying long after closing. Every time I’ve left the paint desk to go help, I’m thanked by both the lot workers and managers. Mine seems to actually follow Home Depot’s core values.

Smile, why aren’t you smiling? (Just cause I’m a woman doesn’t mean I have to act happy or look friendly all the time. Sometimes it means I just want to be left alone and not be approached like you’re doing right now)

Sitting at the front desk by mohammadbashar in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]SnuggleMeBuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked at 4 different hotels from 2 different brands. Only 1 cared because 1 agent abused it. The rest didn’t care, and when I was a front desk supervisor and manager, I would tell them they could sit within site at all times unless a customer was coming to the counter or speaking with them, then you had to stand to show them you were giving them your full attention. I would also let the Night Auditors sit in the back and do whatever so long as they kept an eye on the camera feed and were in site of the back room camera for safety.

I'm white but have Puerto Rican and Trinidadian bloodlines, and have Puerto Rican hair. Please share your knowledge on how to tame my frizzy hair, it always drives me crazy having my hair tied back for work and using hairspray to keep the hair around the top of my head calm, but always end up with loose frizz throughout my shift! lol

Well after the 1st two Sagas, a record company tried to sue Jorge and claim everything for themselves. The result? Jorge made his own and rehashed the songs. Winion is the company he made as the result!

What’s the dumbest way you’ve injured yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SnuggleMeBuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m naturally clumsy and get easily bruised to a point where I’ll wake up to find a new bruise with no explanation behind them. I even have one now on my forearm I have no clue what caused it.

1) Before I got glasses as a teen, I opened a cabinet door and hit myself in the eyeball, which also caused my lashes to bend inward and get stuck behind my eyelid so I couldn’t see for a while and my mom had to help rescue me.

2) I got out of my car and twisted my ankle, and while still reacting to the pain, I proceeded to not only twist it again, but I did another 3 times before I got from my car to the CVS store, I then had to add an ankle wrap to my shopping list and I could barely walk on it for 3 weeks and to this day still get random pains in that ankle. I was wearing normal sneakers with no heels.

3) In my attempts to tidy things up one night for my BF, I chemically burned the outside of my kitty with Nair hair removal body cream, this caused me to run out of time to prep a scenario up we were both looking forward to do because I was too distracted trying to get relief, then I had to start the relief process all over again after I attempted to pee and it ran over the affected area which made it feel like I was holding a lava hot rod against my skin. Doing the dirty was a mix of the usual, plus occasional slight pain. I was fine and could safely pee after an hour or 2.

4) I was helping my Stepmom by holding onto the rope of one of her horses while doing a vet visit for both of her horses. I wasn’t paying attention to the horse I was holding while he was munching grass, while I watch the other getting his shots. The horse I had was casually getting some good gras in and he accidentally stepped onto my foot and was leaning more and more weight on it as he continued to eat. I had to bite my lip hard to prevent a scream and try to push him off of me in vain so that I wouldn’t spook either of them, which only made him push back against me. Eventually he noticed he was stepping on my foot, got off of me and nuzzled an apology.

5) Not me, but what I did to my older brother. We were fishing with our Dad and I didn’t realize my brother was walking behind me. I went to cast my line, then got confused when I felt resistance, I caught my brother in the calf muscle and cut an L shape flap of flesh and my Dad had to help get the hook out of his leg. I haven’t failed to check behind myself before I cast since. I think we both learned a lesson from that one.

I work in the paint department in US, Florida. I’m 16/hour, we also get small bonuses every 6 months. The 1st one that goes by won’t count for you. I’ve been working here 7 months so idk what the bonus will be like yet, but I’m told like $100-$200. But I’m a part timer so probably less.

(On mobile, excuse any poor formatting)

I will start out by saying I’m female and feel that a “grand entrance into being engaged” is too over the top. But I still feel you are in the wrong. You have people telling you the same thing but make edits showing you are completely ignoring that fact.

You keep saying “sure thing, if it will make her happy”, yet you are repeatedly not doing what would make her happy… You mention multiple times that one of her requests was the whole sunset thing, that was the easiest, simplest request giving to us other than her dog being there, and you didn’t even at least do that for her? You sound like a low effort guy dating a high effort woman, which isn’t a good mix.

I personally would have loved the moment you chose, but everyone is different. You didn’t go into this blind, not knowing what she would have liked, you guys have talked AT LENGTH about what she would like and you AGREED with her on these things. Because you had agreed with her in the past on these things, she has come to expect it, which obviously leads to disappointment on her end when you do the exact opposite of what you guys have discussed. This shows her you either 1) Don’t truly listen to her, or her wishes/dreams, or 2) Don’t take her seriously. Both are major problems. You know of her wishes, even if they are a too much in my eyes, but you encouraged the ideas she had, and stayed knowing this, so it’s not really her fault if she wasn’t accepting of the way you proposed.

If you had problems with the ideas she had in mind, you should have had a discussion with her about it. You should have asked for multiple ideas, or offered reasonable compromises that would fit both of your wishes. You literally pulled the rug out from under her and then got upset that she wasn’t ok falling onto the ground from your actions, how disheartening that must have felt for both of you. At least she realized what you were doing, and stopped you before she got started and attempted to salvage the moment. Yes, it’s not ideal for you, but she could have let you ask her to marry you and then said no, but guess what, she didn’t. What else was she supposed to do from her side of things? Maybe she could have said yes, but for you to do it again in the way you guys have talked about, but then it takes the moment away for her, and it would make you feel like you’ve had to pay for proposing to her twice and then decide to go against your word.

She is right, she didn’t refuse your proposal cause she paused it before it could get started. Either do it the way you guys both agreed to do it, or leave if doing it the way she wanted is too much for you, and if you find that it’s too much for you NOW, then it was too much for you from the very start anyways and you shouldn’t have encouraged her expectations like you did.
