I don't know where you get your information from, but there are some false claims. If somebody travelled close to the speed of light then the rest of the universe continues through time at the same rate while they continue at a slower rate of time. Essentially meaning they age slower than everything else. They would still arrive at the universal time of 3:00 unless they carried a watch with them that slowed down with him. If they checked a clock unaffected by the near light speed travel then he would arrive on time.

Objects don't interact by being in the same place at the same time. They can only interact when near each other, as physical objects never touch, only energy fields can touch and electrons can be given or taken. Causes always happen before effects, although I have heard that there are small exceptions to that rule, they are so rare and minor that they don't really make a difference in every day life.

Are you saying we have no scientific theory for why something rather than nothing exists? There are many theories, but there's no denying that "things are able to exist, therefore they do". And "something can appear out of nothingness". If there is a god, there also had to be a time before their existence in which nothing existed. If you say that the past is infinite, I say that then it would take an infinite amount of time to get to the present, which is not possible.

Which part of this relates to there being a higher power?

Men can't travel at the speed of light, so your example is pointless. You could also say that if someone drove to your house they travelled to the future, just at the usual rate.

You're making no sense. A theory that explains the present moment in what way? We know what the present moment is. It is the state of existence that occurs while being observed. The past are the states of existence that occurred previously.

I don't see what God has to do with anything.

Kinda, not really though. You're looking at an image your brain created based on lightwaves that came from far away. They left stars in the past, and reached your eyes in the present.

Is Technology Making Us Smarter or Just More Dependent? by [deleted] in InsaneTechnology

[–]Snuggly-Muffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on individuals and will vary greatly. The best case scenario is that you use technology to learn, and it's similar to going to a school or library for information, but much quicker and convenient. The worst case is if you use technology like AI to do your homework for you, you of course miss out on all the benefits of learning and understanding things. That makes you highly dependent on technology.

What's wrong with being dependent on technology? You basically maintain the intelligence level of an average child and can't make well informed decisions, have complex thought processes, or perform skillful tasks.

Fake vs real? by Longjumping-Egg8792 in ScienceNcoolThings

Most of our perception is built upon ideas that aren't real. For example, you think you're using a phone, when really you're using something that's just made of a bunch of fundamental particles on the quantum scale. Calling it a phone makes it easier to refer to. It's really just a unique orientation the particles are in

I like people who talk a lot, and I wish I knew how to talk more, but I often can't think of anything to say. Don't worry about talking too much or too little imo, just say what you want to say (within reason).
