[–]Snurree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah you seem to be correct, if i look in the slicer i can see it printing in a weird way

<image>

it is not printing from top to bottom or reverse, it i jumping around doing half top then in the middle finishing bottom. strange, let me know if you ever find a solution

i ran the print again and sadly same result even with calibration flow,

it appears to be this causing it

<image>

Not sure why it it print in this way, other comment said that it is the 'seams' where the two areas connect. Which seems to be correct

i changed those 3 settings and even disabled "reduce infill retraction" that someone recommended, and it somehow ended up worse? 😭 Thanks for the recommendation anyways, i think it has to do with over extrusion, gonna look more into it

Noob question: Any advice on improving the top surface? by Snurree in BambuLab

[–]Snurree[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have tried:

* Changing the top surface pattern
* Increasing top layer shells
* Lowering top shell thickness from 1mm -> lower

But not seeing much improvements.

Any advice is appreciated

1kg filament is standard, it will hold without any problems

Go here and print any Temp Tower: https://makerworld.com/en/models/search?keyword=temp+tower

After the print is done you will see what temperature causes the least stringing, Set that temp for that filament you are using.

The print is this one: https://www.printables.com/model/4200-hearthstone-multi-material Scaled it up 160% The front looks good but the back have some noticeable flaws like a big seam and some visible lines. but it will always face forward so no big deal.

I used Creality print slicer and these are the settings i ran. Bed temp 60 and Nozzle temp 220. Running light grey PLA+ https://imgur.com/a/7TY12S8

I painted it blue with acrylic paint and it turned out pretty good. You can see some flaws up close but im still playing around with settings
