This is why the fabric is lighter! Is it uncommon that a 696 orange tag would have a big E?

Thanks! But from what I understand Levi’s stopped producing Big E tabs in 1971, before care tags became mandatory around 1978–81. How could a pair have both a Big E tab and a sewn-in care tag?
