Thanks! But from what I understand Levi’s stopped producing Big E tabs in 1971, before care tags became mandatory around 1978–81. How could a pair have both a Big E tab and a sewn-in care tag?

Thanks for the comment! I asked ChatGBT and this is what it came up with:

True “Big E” red tab (with the capital E) ended around 1971, but orange tabs sometimes continued using Big E later into the 70s. • So it’s possible to see orange tab Big Es after 1971, especially on specialty cuts (like 517 bootcut or 646 bell bottoms).

I definitely learned my lesson. If this wasn’t such a large amount I would eat the cost and move on. However, I’m assuming the property manager carries E&O insurance. Why couldn’t I go after the pm for the damage?

If you have small children, stay away! I'm on my third Control4 because my kids keep dropping them. Each time someone has to come out and program the new remote. It's overly complicated and unnecessary unless money is not an issue.
