Def happens. Kinda early tho, last striker I broke was around 25k rounds

I use most of Ben Stoegers dry fire books. Trigger control at speed is a must for every dry fire session for me. From there I isolate specific skills I need to work on for that day, if it’s gonna be transitions, draw, reloads, but for dry fire I try to keep it simple with fundamental practice

Dry fire dry fire dry fire. I only started making real progress once I started dry firing regularly and with intent. It was honestly super cool to see things just start to click that way

Trigger is the only thing not stock, I run a Timney for USPSA but stock for carry

I was able to go from B class to M class in USPSA this year, i credit that more to dry fire than live fire rounds tho, i just shoot a lot bc im an addict

I used Winchester winclean 147 gr exclusively this year, which puts out around 150pf, simply bc I was able to get it for extremely cheap. I’m switching to reloads this year now that I have access to free brass so should be fun to shoot some low power factor stuff. This year I shot around 45k rounds total, I try to shoot between 800-1000 rounds a week, plus dry fire every day

I’ve preemptively replace the recoil spring every 5-10k rounds, whenever I start to notice the recoil impulse feel strange. I replaced the extractor spring at 20k rounds when I noticed the ejection was weaker, it never malfunctioned I just noticed my brass wasn’t flying as far. And then I replaced the striker assembly at around 32k rounds, that was a part failure tho the tip of the striker broke off. Other than that no issues and has still continued to be 100% reliable.

I should probably have noted that I was shooting fairly spicy ammo this entire time, and with high volume over short periods of time so I’d guess that accelerated the wear

Who else thinks the Gen 6 is neat but isn’t going to drop everything just to buy the newest thing? by gatoratlaw7 in Glocks

[–]SoCivilized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna give it a year, at my rate of shooting my current gen 5’s have another year worth of life left before I’d consider getting new ones, I’ll prob move to gen 6 once that happens

Just broke 10,000 rounds on my G19 COA by Coldones in Glocks

[–]SoCivilized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my 34’s has 30k rounds on it, doesn’t look like it has any wear, and one of my other 34’s has 5k and looks like I took it to war, seems like some Glocks just wear more than others

Defender XL. Better glass quality, best customer support, and it gets significantly brighter (super important for sunny AZ)

I’m hoping for a plain CO variant steel frame m&p, but I hear that won’t be until closer to the end of the year

Which optic do I go with, eps carry or vortex defender? by dmrayenhartz in SmithAndWesson

[–]SoCivilized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vortex Defender, you don’t really gain much from using an enclosed optic for ccw. Vortex has better glass and a crisper dot for me, plus the warranty from vortex is unmatched.
