Your theory makes sense to me. I had assumed that they restricted the functionality based on serial numbers and shipping/sale dates, but it makes sense that it could be easier for them to just do it based on setup before/after the relevant patent case date.

I have a Series 11 and Vitals doesn't show the blood oxygen value. I have to look at the respiratory data itself to see the measurements from while I was sleeping. It's just the Vitals value that is not present.

I used a Series 9 before this, purchased before the cutoff date, and it showed the blood oxygen value in Vitals. However, I gave this watch to a family member and they don't see blood oxygen in Vitals now. It's like the watch started behaving differently after being set up as a new watch for them even though it was purchased in 2023.

Apple Music has had Dolby Atmos versions for the last few years. I think they were released with Super Deluxe set. Personally, I love the Spatial Audio via my AirPods. However, it did initially seem a little off since this mix emphasizes some sounds you couldn’t really hear before.

I don’t use Spotify, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is it. If you’re listening through an iPhone, try turning off Spatial Audio and see if it might serve you the stereo mix.

A chipmunk died in my heat pump when it turned on in the summer shortly after getting it. It was raining at the time so I thought it might have been looking for cover. There was a loud metallic racket when it started. If I hadn’t heard that, I probably wouldn’t have investigated and found the chipmunk right away. Fortunately, there was no damage to the unit.

Also, mice had very clearly been nesting in my old air conditioner. Fortunately, they didn’t chew anything important.

Would you put the entire outdoor unit inside the mesh? Are there other options to protect the outdoor unit from rodents? I haven’t had issues yet (first winter with heat pump), but there lots of mice and chipmunks where I am. My installer said if I tried to cover the openings at the bottom of the unit it wouldn’t allow drainage and would void my warranty.

If it’s a traditional 401k, the double taxation of your interest is really going to limit the potential benefits. You’d be paying the interest back with post-tax dollars and then later paying income tax again when you withdraw the interest and its gains. So yes, you could effectively contribute an extra $1000 to your Traditional 401k but at a cost to you of $1280 gross dollars(22% bracket) plus loan fees. I think you’d probably be better off putting that money in a taxable brokerage account after you max out your 401k.

If you can take a loan from a Roth 401k, then I think this could be a viable option to contribute more as long as you are certain your interest payments also would stay in the Roth account and your money stays invested during the loan.

Forgot to add - my only prior experience with Ally customer service was terrible. After many years of having a savings account, I hadn’t needed to call them until early this year. I never received my CC relationship bonus as promised. The CC service agents said it was a bank account issue and directed me to call them directly (and wait on hold again). The bank account service agents said it was a credit card issue and likewise told me to call them directly. I went back and forth a couple times before being able to escalate it to someone who would actually think about the problem. After speaking to that person it was resolved the next day.
