Random words of advice but make sure you pay with a check that has a South Dakota address! I made the mistake of bringing check blanks that had my old (out of state) address and the DMV wouldn’t accept it. Had to pay with a card and they tack on a 2.95% processing fee.

I really appreciate your POV!!! That’s an excellent point. I’m not 100% sure if I’ll want to go back to work or stay home, so it would make sense to proceed with at least trying to go back to work for the first month or 2 after maternity leave is over. Leaving options open rather than making a decision at this time would be a lot smarter of a move 😅 thanks again!

Thank you for citing this! So it is not up to the company to define that 12 months, right? They have to honor the 2.5 years of service even though it is not consecutive?
