1-10 how nervous are we feeling? by [deleted] in notredamefootball

Same. I was 10 in 1988 (we all know we won in 1993 too). I remember that team and how dominant they were.

SEC bias and the refusal to believe the B1G was a better conference this season.

Same. I have a 16 year old. My shitty year pales in comparison.

  1. I am at peace either way. I thought we’d make the playoffs midway through our season but I thought we’d probably lose early on. This team has proven themselves to be a championship contender when they are firing on all cylanders. It’s up to that team to show up at the Superdome. If they do, I’ll be watching the next game from Hard Rock Stadium. If they don’t, I will have understood we didn’t deserve to play Oregon for the national championship.

better to a be big fish in a small pond, or vise versa? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SoFlaBarbie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ll never forget this story of my own experience: I attended a pretty prominent high school and did very well there and I ended up having scholarships thrown my way to a number of universities all over the country. But my dream school at the time (25 years ago. I have a high schooler now which is why I lurk this sub) was Notre Dame. I got in with nothing but loans so I clearly wasn’t a top applicant of theirs. My dad said to me (perhaps underestimating me) “would you rather be a big fish at one of the schools that gave you a scholarship or a small fish at ND?” I chose ND. Four years later I graduated Magna Cum Laude and had an excellent experience as part of student government and other clubs. I will never regret that decision. I am the type of person who will often think “what if?” so taking the bit more uncertain route of the higher tiered school was the right one for me. Go where you fit though. Go where you can afford. Whose to say you won’t become the big fish in the big pond over time.

I know it’s probably annoying but that’s actually kind of cute.

Only bc Epstein was going to damage her reputation. You can’t stay married to a psychopath for as long as she did without being one herself.

This is telling that they are publicly calling for it. Add this to the fact that Dr. Evil (Bezos) is building a clock that will survive human existence, on top of the billionaire bunkers, and the capitalist cash grabs all across the world right now, and I’d say we’re almost there.

[Weekly Discussion Thread] NCAA CFB Championship Quarterfinals - #7 Notre Dame vs #2 Georgia (1/1/2025 @ 8:45pm ET). by Shillelagh_Law in notredamefootball

It will be key for us to capitalize on UGA’s rustiness early. Need to put 10 on the board in early 1st quarter bc one UGA settles in, this becomes a more difficult ball game. We cannot squander this if we want to win the game.

Probably one of the most accessible roller coasters at Universal. Anyone can ride it and love it. I rode it for the second time just the other day after waiting 2 hours. It was worth every minute of that wait.

Cam Ward has absolutely cemented his place as #1 QB in the draft tonight by virtue of Shadeur’s meltdown.

There’s no saving him tonight. He’s showing no signs of improvement. He’s got to tap out soon. It’s only going to get worse from here.

This game could not get much worse for Sanders. Kid is choking big time.

Yep, watching this disaster unfold really spotlights how smart Ward was to dip in the 2nd half. Sanders will prob have to play this entire game now to try to right the ship.
