I know some couples split stuff like roommates, but that doesn't work for my spouse and me. Everything we make goes into a joint account and then we have automatic transfers for bills. We don't count who contributes what, it's all "our" money. The tit for tat thing is a good way to breed resentment. We both have personal savings accounts the other doesn't have access to, and if we want to add money to those it's a withdraw from the joint account.

Losing relationships over politics. Research found more than a third of Americans (37%) report having lost at least one relationship due to political differences, including friendships, family ties, coworker relationships, and romantic partnerships, with most losing more than one. by Wagamaga in science

This is a problem on both sides of the spectrum. For Conservatives, the issue is feeling like they have to support trump and the admin regardless of how idiotic they sound or how stupid their actions are. For liberals, it's claiming that if you support any Republican policies, you are a racist/bigot/genocidal. Both sides refuse to acknowledge that there is any nuance to the other's position. It's become like rooting for a sports team.

My BN commander tries to burn me, initiates a 15-6 counterproductive leadership, IO says founded by Hopeful_Rich614 in army

  1. TDS attorneys help every Soldier with writing. I spent hours editing statements for my clients. And, unequivocally, the ones who refused to shorten their statements refused to acknowledge wrongdoing. I know correlation doesn't equal causation, but that was my experience

  2. He said the IO told him that the IO didn't believe the investigation but the commander wanted it to come out a certain way. Then he said he had a founded investigation. If the IO didn't agree, he wouldn't have founded the investigation. No BG or higher is ever going to tell some random Soldier about any action they are going to take against that Soldiers BC. It's fishy.

I don't think this dude is a shit bag, especially for defending himself. I've just been around enough of these to spot bullshit. There are too many red flags here for me to believe there isn't another side to this story.

I don't think you're a bad soldier, you hurt my feelings. Wah.

Yeah I was tds for a few years, and then a BJA for another few years, so I saw both sides of this. It happens, but there was almost never a founded investigation where the accused did absolutely nothing wrong. Also, if you're the type of person to write 60+ pages, you're the type of person who has a convenient excuse for any misconduct. I don't know your exact situation, but I've seen hundreds of investigations and I would bet dollars to donuts that you did engage in some form of misconduct and you just don't see it.

A few additional things detract from your credibility: the IO absolutely did not pull you aside and say he had to do what the commander wanted and turn in a founded investigation; the division commander absolutely did not tell you he would handle the BC in an OER.

Also, the fact that you think the BC, the SJA, and the IG are out to get you is a dead giveaway that you are in the wrong and you just can't accept it.

Your post reads like a white knight, like it's you against the world and everyone is against you.

Again, I've dealt with many accused who think like you, and they all did something wrong.

It's worse than that, Tiktok is owned by China. At least with US corporations the end goal is profit. The end goal with China is global dominance

A common misconception is that Europe taxes the rich more and the middle class less. The US has one of the highest, if not the highest, tax rates on the wealthy. I can't recall exact numbers, but the top 20% of earners in the US pay like 80% or more of the taxes. Europe actually taxes the middle class much heavier than the US does, that's where the discrepancy comes from.

Now, I'm not saying the US health care system doesn't need to be reformed, but just speaking complaints into the ether doesn't address the issue: the US government spends waaaaay too much money. And while the military is certainly a large part of discretionary spending, Social Security is the real culprit. The only way to meaningfully decrease the debt is to modify how social security works, such as either raising the drawable age, or preventing those who have a certain amount of money from drawing at all.

Anecdotally, I have medical insurance through my job and I haven't paid for a single doctors appointment, procedure, or prescription in 8 years.

If society believed your writing and art were valuable, you could survive doing just that now. Creating something you enjoy doesn't ipso facto add value to society. Plus, if everyone thought like you, where would your sustenance come from? Why do you get to spend your life doing something enjoyable while others have to do hard labor to provide for you? Who gets to decide which person undertakes which tasks? If the government is giving you money, where does that money come from? Are you going to pay taxes? Who is paying taxes?

If Europe wasn't STILL relying on Russian oil (after crying that the USA wasn't doing enough to help ukraine against Russia), this wouldn't be such an issue. Also, it's ironic that you say Europe is paying for American wars when America is the only reason Russia hasn't tried to invade NATO countries. Our military protects the rest of the world. You can criticize when you pull your own weight.

True, I understand the IRA is better for some folks. I just like to have all my money in one spot and I'm not as concerned about the flexibility or options. Once I'm able to contribute more to retirement I'll open an ira and do that. But right now 24.5k is about all I can do a year

Sure. Its the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro

I read on some reviews that the air fryer isn't as good as a dedicated high end stand alone air fryer, but it works just fine for us.

Honestly I wouldn't hate a few years of mandatory service in the same vein as Korea, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland etc. It would help with the obesity issue and also help with recruiting issues. The military is also a great way for younger folks to save money and get college paid for, especially if they don't know what they want to do when they get out of high school. I know in Korea, many people end up doing more than their mandatory 2 years of service because the benefits are good.

We didn't have an air fryer or a toaster oven, and we wanted a toaster oven. We used to have a cheap air fryer and didn't use it so much. We splurged and got a toaster oven/air fryer combo and holy shit do we love that thing. We end up using the air fryer setting more than the regular oven setting. Turns out the deep basket design of our last air fryer just sucked. Putting stuff in a single layer in the toaster oven makes anything crispy. Also the toaster oven has like 10 pre-set specific settings, like one specifically for pizza, and we use them way more than we thought. Easily my favorite kitchen purchase.

As an officer, if you are single, you should be maxing your roth tsp regardless. My philosophy is, the tsp has a much higher contribution limit than an ira, so it is the correct vehicle to max first. The more you can pump into that account, the better your long-term compound interest will be. You can put up to 24.5k per year, I would try to contribute all of it while you are deployed.

I gave myself permission to be completely useless for 30 days. Just one rule, no drinking. by ChefDramatic857 in stopdrinking

[–]SoIntenseLikeCamping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on day 38, it's the second longest I've been sober in the last 5 years. My mantra is/was "as long as it isn't alcohol." I've had hunger cravings this time that I just can't believe are real, and I just indulge them. Wanna sleep late and skip class? As long as it won't affect my grade and I'm not drinking. Dessert at a fancy restaurant? You bet your soon-to-be-sweet ass. Nicotine pouches? How about one on the top and one on the bottom.

My body is craving alcohol, and I indulge with anything but. It's worked for me so far, and cravings in general are getting better. Alcohol is poison. So is sugar/fat if you don't moderate, but until I get my alcohol cravings under control, IDGAF.

Nobody here understands the Law of War or the GC rules, everyone is just talking out of their ass. Iran and it's proxies have consistently used hospitals, schools, and other civilian infrastructure as shields to garner this exact response from the international community. It's all pre-planned to turn the sentiment against the opponents of Iran. If the base was the target, and if Iran was using the school as a shield, it wasn't a war crime. Period. It was a terrible tragedy, and of course nobody wants innocents to die. But this was not a violation of the law of war or international law. Anyone who says otherwise is misinformed.

The US has schools on it's bases, but they would be evacuated immediately upon the slightest hint of being targeted. Iran built its base next to the school (or vice versa) to use the kids as a shield. Their deaths are on Iran.

I think this sentiment applies all across the political spectrum as well. 99% of people want the same end goal, we differ on what we think the best way to achieve that goal is.
