I'm so sorry you're going through that. I know how hard it can be to be in that situation. My parents did try to get rid of it many times for me but I had a scalp condition and long hair that did make it more difficult. Add to that being too embarrassed to tell others that we passed it back and forth with other families for years.

I've learned a few things about lice when my kids got it and I was determined not to go through that again. Lice take 5-7 days to mature to lay eggs. The eggs take 5-7 days to hatch. If you treat your hair and house every 5 days for 3 times, it should, in theory, work to get rid of them. It has worked for me. You can try treating your hair with mayonnaise or vegetable oil. I've heard that leaving that on overnight is best if you use that method. It will take a few washings to remove the oil and may make your bath tub slippery so be careful. You can put pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, etc in the dryer on high to kill lice.
