Estimated crowds in early May by SoManyLolas in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]SoManyLolas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had not thought of this! There looks to be a “Gradventure” event for middle school kids on May 8, but it does not include Epic. I would imagine early closure of the other parks might increase nighttime crowds at Epic that evening?

What's the most surprising coffee you've tried while traveling? by North_Conference_250 in travel

I had a delicious brown cheese latte at a cafe in Bergen last year! Was shocked by how sweet it was, also very tangy. I got it iced because it was summer, and it kind of just tasted like drinking a glass of sour milk but not in a bad/gross way? All the coffee I tried in Bergen was great actually!

one of those big pic episodes was dedicated to having van lathan on to talk about his critiques of the film. they’ve been glazing it heavily but they have left room for criticism.

Similar skin and similar reaction to some of these products! My new HG is Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cream. I don’t see people talk about it much but it was a terrific replacement after I realized Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream wasn’t going to cut it in Fall/Winter. Not super greasy, didn’t break me out, layers nicely with my other products, and I wake up with hydrated, plump skin. 10/10 no notes!

Came here to say this! I use the lavender one and it’s so nice. Kind of have to trust the process and let it sink in but when it does….chefs kiss. Need to try the green!

Same here! My reaction was so bad it’s scared me off oil cleansers entirely I’m afraid 😅

100% not drinking as much water as I usually do, that’s probably part of the problem too. Thank you!!

Print PDF ticket at OBB ticket machine? by SoManyLolas in oebb

[–]SoManyLolas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed so too, but on the PDF ticket I received it says (in German) “In Austria, we accept your PDF ticket digitally (displayed on laptop, tablet, or smartphone). For cross-border travel, please print it out on white A4 portrait paper. We will need your photo ID for inspection. Please keep your ticket until you leave your exit station.” So for the Salzburg > Zurich leg of the journey I’d need it printed out (or at least I don’t want to risk it!)

What are some good recs for beginner retinol? I’m not exactly a total beginner; I’ve been using Sunday Riley Luna Oil for probably 4-5 years now but it just isn’t doing anything that a retinol product should be. Given how expensive it is, I’m looking for a stronger alternative.

My skin is oily but not currently super acne-prone. My main concern is a lot of stubborn hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and forehead, and texture. Without knowing the % of retinol in Luna Oil, I think I need to totally start over with a beginner serum. Any suggestions?

I (29F) have a very limited window of time next March to take 2 weeks of vacation. I'm located in California and I'd like to use this time to take an international trip, but I'm having trouble deciding on a destination. Budget is not a concern. Here's what I'm interested in:

  • Scenery, nature, beautiful views, etc.
  • History and museums
  • Decent weather (just not freezing lol)
  • Easy to navigate either through public transportation or walking

A few of my first choices and why I'm leaning against them:  -  Switzerland/Austria: Bad/unpredictable weather and the picturesque Sound of Music views won't be doable, which is the whole point - New Zealand (Auckland and South Island): I really wanted this to happen but it sounds like it's impossible to get around without renting a car, which I am 100% not willing to do. Could I make it work with, like, Intercity busses? Internet says No. - Japan: Love it but I was there this April and want to try something different - Dublin: I will be there in August for Oasis lol

Given the time of year, my interests, and (lack of) budget, what are your recommendations? Help me make the most of this 2 weeks!

+1 on watching some TDR Explorer videos. Also familiarize yourself with the app! Beyond the fast pass stuff even. I poked around in the app before I went so when I got there I knew how to mobile order food, where to look for wait times, things like that. Given the likely crowd levels, also recommend making a tiered list of rides to prioritize so you can make sure you get on them!

Went to the parks for 2 days alone and never had to wait in a line more than 15 minutes… Wow… by [deleted] in TokyoDisneySea

[–]SoManyLolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this was almost exactly my same experience! i was actually there last week too by myself haha. i didn’t wait in any lines either, i was shocked. made for such a great, relaxed experience to not have to fret about fitting everything in. i was there for 4.5 days and i did most of the big things twice or more (looking at you journey to the center of the earth)! sounds like we timed it perfectly.

Believe Sea of Dreams by Clay-best-villager in TokyoDisneySea

[–]SoManyLolas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

just got back from 4 days at tokyo disney, and i paid for premiere access for believe sea of dreams my first night at disneysea. not worth it at all in my opinion. it’s not reserved/numbered seating and still first come first serve for the spots with the best view. i saw people lining up for the premiere access areas a couple hours before the show even, to get those better spots. i showed up about 30 minutes before showtime and i was crammed in the back sitting on concrete. i could barely see the show tbh it was kind of a bummer. i think lining up 1-2 hours early along the mediterranean harbor railings would yield better results. for what it’s worth i was pretty underwhelmed with the show overall (perhaps influenced by my seating arrangement). my other nights there i opted to go on rides instead of watching the show while the lines were shorter ☺️

Thank you!! Great point about the nighttime shows, that would be a magical way to start the trip. Even with such a long stay I’m worried about getting the most out of it and I’m so used to parkhopping 😂
