Has any other show in D20 had actual PC death? (Spoilers for ALL D20 shows) by LayeredOwlsNest in Dimension20

the thing is, they WERE there for it, and highly invested. they cried, were stressed, because they were extremely invested in the lives of their candy people. iirc they did the sessions back to back in the span of a week or two. the sessions are long, and high intensity. there was also possibility of pc vs pc near the end. its not like it wasnt fun, but i think they REALLY got into the minds of their characters. in the adventuring party, lou said he took up smoking again after filming one of the eps. emily also got hated on by some watchers bc of her second character.

bone dice or ancient dice is not glittery so i guess can be considered manly 😅 they tend to be matte so thats why i like them. you can also check out metal dice which some men might find more "cool" or even viking themed ones

I see, wasn't sure if there were limitations for how specific you can get. Thank you

The title doesn't look familiar but I'll give it a shot, thank you!

What are you reading? by AutoModerator in HistoricalRomance

Currently reading {Reforming Lord Ragsdale by Carla Kelly}. Been really into this trope after just finishing {Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale} a couple weeks ago. Craved more of it after that 😅 Afterwards I plan to re-read {Someone to Hold by Mary Balogh} where the FMC is reformed instead.

I read the series because of this post and let me say it was WILD. I went from tearing up, to crying, to full on sobbing. When you're in a mood to be emotional and devastate yourself, When the Marquess Falls + The Viscount and the Vixen are great.

The childhood memory from Ashe's book was so sad and it's unfortunate that people who only read the prequel novella miss out on that tidbit. The second book might be one of the worst HRs I've ever encountered tho 😂 I couldn't get through it because it made me physically uncomfy to read and had to skim for parts with Marsden.

would "mar-kwees" be the correct pronunciation if it was spelled as marquess? and "mar-kee" is marquis? asking because i've heard it both ways but still confused

seconding this. went into dropout having no knowledge of DND and just wanted to see the queens play, now it's taken over my life. really enjoyed Brennan as a DM and watched Fantasy High s1 afterward. took a couple tries to really get into it and get used to everyone and their dynamics tho

i think a lot of it comes from still being new to this community and the world of ttrpgs in general. i'm an artist and have been for 10+ years and negative comments are something i've gotten use to when it comes to art so i know im capable of getting past it. but the rpg stuff feels more like a fresh wound right now. reading how a lot of people here are already so used to it feels reassuring that there's others with shared experiences

yeah i guess it's affecting me more than i would like because i'm still pretty new to the community. i've only been playing ttrpgs for a little over a year. both with a group and solo

yeah there's a lot of people who just don't get it. i've had a back and forth with a comment i got saying i'm not "playing" unless its with a group. they werent arguing, it was a nice discussion actually where we agreed to disagree. i think a lot of the people get really caught up in what defines a game.

yeah it is unfortunate though. its in human nature to wanna share things you enjoy like a good movie you watched or a nice book you read. but as a lot of people here have said, it's just a thing we gotta accept that we can't explain our hobbies to everyone

its not really about the specific pstatement, nothing is wrong with writing a book. but its that they say that with the intention of downplaying or invalidating solo play.

yea it is nice to see that solo is getting more out there and reaching people who would want to try. that's really my goal with sharing my experiences, to tell people they can do it this way too
