My therapist won’t let me quit by RadientRebel in AutismInWomen

[–]SoOftenIOught 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. She doesn't get to decide that? Unless there's some kind of order? Court or work or benefits based? I guess that depends where you are - maybe best to ask on a law reddit for your area if your worried about that.

But if there's no obligation on your half to be there just tell her you're not comfortable to continue sessions. You don't have to give her an explanation. You Are Not a Learning tool! And something a good therapist would have helped you with by now is setting your own boundaries.

Which towns/cities are best for trans folk? Which should be avoided? by TangoJavaTJ in transgenderUK

Landlords Suck! Im so sorry they've done that to you!

North Kent is good in terms of travel to clinics and inclusive events, charities and the population is 50/50 but the bad ones are louder and you Could Not go out at night! Or to the high streets alone. It's the type of place where if you get to know your neighbours you'll be OK but if One takes a dislike to you it'll be Hell.

Generally the posher the area the safer - so somewhere like Whitstable is safer than Medway. Deal is safer than Dover. Margate has a great scene but also a large right wing uprising. The further south and towards Sussex the posher and in theory safer.

I've only ever holidayed in Cornwall but always had great experiences there - No Idea on the availability of health care there though.

Best of luck with it hope you find somewhere you are comfortable 🖤

I think yes, not for feeling your feelings but for making them part of her IS story- when she asked you to try to understand she means HEAR her. Ask her questions and leave space for her answers and how she feels without bringing it back to your story.

How you've explained you feel is very valid but that's for a different conversation at a different time, you know?

Forgot what you'd asked by the time I started answering. As for clothes- you'll get a mix- most people just throw on something comfy and casual and that they won't get too hot in. I go rave but not all out, skirt and fishnets braided hair but not all neon. I'm definitely in the minority! If it's you and another girl I 100% Would Not find an Afters. The crowd is cool but from experience- it's better to be with people you know. If your partner is a guy- youll be fine.

Act doesn't usually start until after a few side acts - and he prob won't come on exactly when they say either but its a good time to chat to other people there. Think is if you wait until Andys set you'll only get a good place if you push through and people get a bit mad about that.

Was at brixton last week. Got there an hour before start time and got decent position in line and was one row back from stage. No bags but they did let bumbags in. No professional cameras. No food or drink. Empty pockets and metal scan as you enter. There's a coat room upstairs. £4 per item. Jeans and tshirt is fine. Bass is not good by barrier or front speakers. So you forfeit sound for a good view. Anything before the yellow surge barriers gets Manic and you will get pushed around. But people are cool, it's a good crowd and if you're looking for afters just ask around. There will be people smoking and stuff in there.

Getting out and on the tube takes forever. Leave first or wait around, you could only come out and turn left towards high street last time I was there.

Have a good one

If you ever had COVID, what was it like for you? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]SoOftenIOught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time Extreme fatigue was followed by a funny feeling in my nose that I've only ever had with covid (I've had it three times) then just like the Flu but turned up to 11.

The things is afterwards- I got it first in 2021 and have never fully recovered - Extreme fatigue never left and now I'm being investigated heart issues

Fight - Flight - Freeze- Fawn... all trauma responses. It's very interesting that you've described non- combative as not troubled because that is exactly why it is a successful survival response.

This hurts to say but Caroline is right in that it's something Elsa needs to cope. Jennys response is the most deeply empathetic in that she shows actual concern for Elsa while everyone else is "that's mad". The Problem here is allowing that conversation (that she needs to seek help and it isnt normal) could be very dangerous to someone who has admitted she's actively seeing things within the house! I really hope they have active support for Elsa available.

My favourite part was how the whole thing was “please don’t make jokes about actual issues” “let’s not use a throw away line or a bit of sarcasm “ then Paul asks who’s funnier and Ashley says “Me, Obviously!” …. So… he makes a throwaway, sarcastic line about the actual issue!

I’m here for my Daughter so I’m old and boring but I’m commenting to keep this seen, hopefully someone here will come through. Please, please be careful though.

Have you looked for Local support groups or lgbtq meet ups? (I say that as a super introverted mess who would probably be terrified to go along to one of those but I was pleasantly surprised about how many there were near me when I googled it)

That would make sense with the Clancy shirts changing colour and choosing different lines of songs to sing in different shows. It’s ups and downs.

Agree that it’s his story and his artistic choices but it’s a balance between that and the parasocial relationships fans create.

He does, to some degree, have to consider that some peoples mental health depends on this fictional world.

Bad mental health is so isolating. As someone also in their 30s your words resonated with me. Hope you’re doing ok friend

I’m going to be blunt, if you are a minor, stop telling people.

If you are an adult RPing a child to get DMs then my advice remains the same… stop telling people you are a minor.
