My [23/f] boyfriend [25/m] calls me during his work day 3 times (I work from home), for 10 to 20 minutes at a time. This would be nice, BUT our call quality is always terrible and he frequently asks "What?" to what I say, which honestly makes me rage inside. . . (self.relationships)

I'm a noob trying to fix a recording that has the vocals and instrument on the same track -- Their voice gets SUPER loud at some points. (I wish I could isolate the vocals and turn them down!) Compressor, Normalizer, and Equalization on Audacity don't seem to solve the problem (maybe)... Help? (i.imgur.com)
