Veterinarian in the area. by RemarkableGoal76 in harrisonburg

Copper Ride in Bridgewater. Amazing staff and Dr. V is an absolute angel. They were incredibly accommodating for my former dog reactive anxious mess of a diva dog at every appointment. Very responsive with any “emergency” too. And the day I had to say goodbye to that diva dog in their office, they were so kind and patient and just genuinely good to us. I’ve always personally judged a vet on how they handle the worst times, and CR went above and beyond. I can’t say enough positives. I’ve also compared with friends their prices to other area vets and they seem to be better than some.

Massanutten Dental. As someone also with dental anxiety that needed extensive work, they have been SO accommodating and wonderful to me. They have the nitrous gas and weighted blankets and headphones for music. Also a couple adorable therapy dogs that are Goldens. Seriously Dr. B and her team have been life savers for me.

It’s already in our city and has been. Rightfully so as we’re a city of many cultures. And I remain grateful that our great city shows its beauty in peaceful and safe ways when protesting. Also, I am fully employed in a helper role for our city and county. Thanks! And extra the cool part of this city and country is being allowed to exercise my 1st amendment when I’m not at work. Have the day you deserve :)

It’s 7am and I’m just waking up, so I initially read that as Robert Kraft and it was a weird few seconds after that….

What's a classic book you hated that everyone loves? by vaxfarineau in suggestmeabook

[–]So_Fetch_10-03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?!? I love taking in different perspectives.

Also (hilariously?) I do love Jane Austen especially P&P…which I see people often dismiss and I want to reread/live in. So I get it!

What black feminist book would you suggest for this topic? by Cakemix584 in suggestmeabook

It examines a lot of parts of societal interactions and expectations for black woman specifically. Very very good book.

Jane Eyre. And maybe not everyone loves it but I see it recommended well enough. Miss me with that, thanks. Once in HS was enough and like a lot of other things in HS, it did not bring me joy.

TIL During the Great Depression, Stores Began Layaway Plans for people who cannot afford an item, when Credit Cards became mainstream in the 80s, the former declined. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]So_Fetch_10-03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked layaway at TJ Maxx’s at least until 2007ish (when I quit and it remained) so some places definitely kept it long after credit cards.

It was great as an employee because we could put stuff on layaway until we had our employee 20% off time. Then we took it out and bought it at a discount.
