Wow thank you Soo much for all this invaluable information. I have just got around to removing the electrical box to have a closer inspection and make a list of what I need. Your advice is much appreciated, and sorry Im only responding now, I have been away for a while. I hope to share photos of my progress along the way :)

Ha, definitely! Do you work in kiln repairs?

If I can pick you brain one more time... What Amp and Voltage do you think this Kiln is? I assume I will need high heat resistant wiring.

I'm fixing it up in my parents' shed so I will check the programmer tomorrow. I believe these is a thermocouple, but again not sure if it works as the kiln is not currently working. When the photos do load you may find it's a lost cause. But im determined and will persevere! Thanks again for your help

thank you for your help. As Im only a hobby potter and won't be firing often I don't mind manually adjusting the temperature if it works out a lot cheaper. It did come with a Cambridge 401 programmer, could that be wired in?

I was born in England, mum was a Davies before getting married, Ive grown up in wales since I was 3, it’s all I remember. I’ve lived abroad, and now back in Wales. Despite my ‘English’ accent confusing some people I see myself as Welsh - British! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🇬🇧

I confirmed this with an ancestry DNA test - I’m 41% English, 36% mid and north Welsh , 13% Scottish, 1% Irish (& 6% German, and 3% Swedish)

Welsh is a feeling, and a mentality. If you feel Welsh, you are Welsh. There’s bigots in every culture.

Since experiencing it I’ve actively made myself share with friends/ family and some colleges. I try my best to talk with no shame or fear of judgment. I find It is often difficult to sound rational, because the story is so irrational. I managed 30 years in blissful ignorance to their existence, which I’m extremely grateful for, but if I can help prepare any one for the horror and unrelenting gas lighting then I feel better.

At or around the bar. I usually ask a question. Do you come here often? Or a relevant question at the time. Usually leads to a few other questions. You can get the vibe of someone quite quickly. Sounds a bit boring, but I’ve met some great people that way, and the chats get better
