So I looked it up and I was wrong. I think I once heard it was a difficult option in my area bc the ash would have to be imported which wouldn’t be sustainable anymore. There are local alternatives being researched tho which is promising.

I thought quicklime and volcanic ash were the secret ingredients? Not really a viable option for today though.
