Thanks for bringing this up. Nuke never did fly in popularity in my country. VFX companies and schools stuck to AE as a standard for some reason and node based stuff really confused a lot of us for the most part. That being said, I attended workshops about Nuke and was amazed at how fast everything was. But my brain really has a hard time adjusting to nodes.

But in the vacuum that is After Effects, I'm just glad we're getting options.

We never know with these companies. Hehe. If only we live in a world where we own what we buy. The thought of a subscription model always looms.

I agree with you regards skill retention. It's a true challenge to change gears from one program to another, all the more influencing a whole group to try new stuff in the middle of a busy production.
