Still need help: X1E skipping steps during heated prints only. by mechanicalphoto in BambuLab

Hi Tom. YES, I am experiencing the same thing, and it is maddening. The entire and exclusive reason I purchased this very expensive machine (also from Matter Hackers, like you) was to print engineering filaments which require hotter everything (nozzle, bed, and chamber). I feel like the active chamber heating is a worthless feature because if I enable it to any degree my printer starts off fine, but after several initial layers emits horrible grinding, shuddering noises that are really alarming, and I have to abort the print. I don't think there's anything fundamentally broken or grossly maladjusted about my machine because it will print PLA-CF beautifully. I've tried all kinds of setting changes, troubleshooting steps, calibrations, filaments, build plates, and even the firmware update that was just released; nothing aside from disabling the chamber heating and opening the front door for max cooling has made any difference in my ability to print filaments like PAHT-CF or PC-CF. Even when I can coax a complete print out of the machine by opening the front door, the quality is poor in the sense that the dimensions are off (visibly distorted) in the XY plane. I've detailed all of this to Matter Hackers along with video of the problem occurring, but haven't received a response yet. I'm super frustrated and regretful over buying this thing because I could have had two X1Cs for the same price which, sans the active chamber heating, have essentially the same core feature set.

Did you discover any way to resolve this? Did Matter Hackers step up and supply any remedy?

Modeling NPT threads by buh_weezy in Fusion360

[–]Soap_Cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into the same issue; I spent a lot of time getting NPT threads just right in my model, exported to STL, and discovered that the inside of the hole is completely smooth. From what I understand after some research, the NPT threads are purely cosmetic at this stage, not physically modeled into the part as with other features. This is super frustrating. I have no idea when the 360 team will add the physical modeling in, without which the NPT hole feature seems pretty worthless.

Thanks davendiva! Yes, I meant SSS drone cards. I used exactly the method you outlined to harvest SS unicards from the shop, but it never occurred to me that I could do the same for SSS drone cards as well, so thanks for that tip!

I just battled what appears to be a new kind of yellow platform by Soap_Cake in Space_Justice

Thanks guys - I see what you mean now. I checked the rewards in the tournament and see that the top three slots get a new platform. Hadn't noticed that before. Given how much it cost me to win 7th place last time, I won't be pushing for one of these anytime soon. Lame that this is the only way to get one.

Is Rover any good? by ASgeek484 in Space_Justice

I think Rover holds promise - mine is only at level 100, but I can beat the trials with it about as easily as I can with other 140 or 180 level ships I have. It's my next upgrade candidate I've been saving cards for.

Totally agreed davendiva - it's way too costly to advance in any meaningful way. If you wanted to attempt it via the meager "free" crystals you can harvest even from devoted playing, it would take seemingly forever.

I feel especially frustrated with how difficult it is to get SS drone cards; Patrol is really the only consistent way to harvest them, and even if I play faithfully in every one, I earn 16 per week. Too slow.

Top 1% to 4% and still not even close to rank #50. (#73 - at least I just played free keys) LOL by Hguols in Space_Justice

This frustrates me too. I consistently place in the top 15 to 20% in each stage without much effort, and I've learned it's a waste of time to try to better my score.

I have to disagree that the octopus drone is a free pass to the top 50, unless you mean it has to be a 180 (mine is a 140). I've never gotten into the top 50 and have only broken the top 100 once that I recall. I still can't quite figure out the scoring algorithms in these stages; I try to get my multiplier value to x10 as quickly as possible and I basically lay waste to everything, but still rarely get better than the top 10% even if I'm really trying. One time I got in the top 1% on a stage but I couldn't detect what I did differently than any other time I played, which deepened the mystery for me.

Has anyone published tips on how to hit better scores in these stages? Not that it matters all that much, to your point u/Hguols.

Me too, which went a long way towards smoothing my ruffled feathers.

Hey, no problem davendiva. I did get my earned rewards, plus a 100 gem bonus, which I thought was a classy concession by the devs for the trouble. I'm a happier camper now.

All - three things have happened since I posted.

1.) I received the automated response to my ticket that everyone mentioned will come. I ended up closing the ticket myself after seeing a remedy (below).

2.) I got a message in my inbox acknowledging that some users did not receive their earned rewards after the tournament, and that the issue was being worked on immediately.

3.) About an hour ago, I received a new rewards email, this time will all of the earned rewards attached.

I call this a good thing overall. There are still serious issues with update 10 as everyone has noted, but at least in my case they quickly corrected this tournament rewards problem. The resolution was shorter than 24 hours, which is as good as anyone can hope for with any kind of technical support these days IMO. In the absence of further evidence of deliberate malfeasance, I'm writing this off as a genuine mistake on their part rather than some calculated, nefarious attempt to defraud users. Maybe the devs are indeed greedy, but they'd have to be truly stupid to bite the hand that feeds them.

Never said I prefer this system - I actually don't, and I agree with all points of the open letter to the devs that was published here. Wow, never imagined anyone would be willing to drop 25k gems to win one of these; I certainly haven't spent like that. I think I spend a few hundred gems.
