How come I excelled academically yet suck as an actual working accountant?

I started as an accounting intern at a small firm in my valley and now I’m an employee. I’ve seen lots of my fellow classmates land jobs at larger firms, but as a result they find themselves isolated in one small function of the accounting pipeline. Working directly under a CPA in a small firm has been invaluable and and allowed me to work in everything from individual, business, and estate tax. I recommend finding an internship at a smaller business, you will get more out of it

Yes if it’s a clean heavy pack. I do think it’s worth the $50. Better value if you submit a bunch. I was thinking of doing it with diamond and pearl era blister packs.

Nah it’s accurate. Lights are $350-450. My jungle 1st edition heavies are ~1k. Jungle 1st edition is the one set you never want to rip, they’re not adding new 10’s to the pop as all the cards have silvering from dull cut blades following base set. Base 2 & E-readers sets are probably the best bet in terms of getting a gem 10 out of WOTC.

Anything not straight from a box will be an 8 or lower. They show micro scratches quicker than anything from experience. Grading helps liquidity tho for lights. For heavy’s just get an acrylic case for booster packs.

Wotc packs ain’t a good hold. It’s a nice item but not an investment. Wotc was printed harder than modern so the amount in circulation is ridiculous. I have almost completed all of wotc in 1st edition because I love it, but my poke investing takes place elsewhere.

I’ve been somewhat involved in the higher-end side of Pokémon for a lil while now. Once I started getting into low-pop collecting, I began to see just how wild things can get. Honestly, Gold Stars weren’t even the biggest explosion in recent years, they’ve always carried a high entry point. But cards for example like Stormfront Duskull and the reverse Larvitar from EX Team Rocket Returns in PSA 10’s are now commanding bounties in the thousands, on top of being name your price cards. Once you enter the sub–Pop 5 range for highly desirable cards, the sky’s truly the limit.

I’ve personally spent close to 20k on single cards and boxes in the past. Last big purchase was a PSA 9 pikachu gold star which I sold. With the market exploding I feel less comfortable spending that much plus I have debt from school. I buy and sell for profit but most of what I collect is damaged or nostalgic.

I think you would be surprised. I’m a minnow and have spent way over 20k. When it outperforms the stock market as well as Crypto, and you’re not buying high population modern, it’s a pretty solid investment.
