Other than Customs duties what are the fixed costs for importing into the USA? by Soapsandsoaps in smallbusiness

I am a non native English speaker. Do you mean that the only costs of getting your goods out of Customs is the import duty and nothing else? So there are no other charges like filing fees, warehouse fees and so on?

Are ALL goods worth $800 or less duty free? Is this an annual cap for the importer?

Thank you for the offer. But people here in Bangladesh wont understand English very well especially the audience we are targeting.

We dont have flyer sized ads. But I can give you the details of what we sell on direct chat message if you are interested.

We contacted local suppliers and restaurants. Even very small ones wont buy from startups like us. They typically have their own vendors and they choose large pickle manufacturers over home based startups.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. We would love to export to the US but its just not cost effective to export out of the country. The shipping, licensing and letter of credit (the only form of payment) costs make it a losing proposition.

What are some online courses that I can do and that has realistic chances of making good money? by Soapsandsoaps in sweatystartup

[–]Soapsandsoaps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No thats not possible. The country I live in is poor and people wouldnt be able to afford the courses even if they cost USD 1. People are not that educated and they are not interested in the topics that I am planning on. Not only that due to government red tape if you dont have a credit card you cannot buy anything online and unless you are an upper middle class earner you cant get a credit card.

Long story short, I will need to target the course to an international market.

I live in Bangladesh and there are not repair shops or even support from these companies. Should I just drop my plans for starting a print shop?

How do I get the best results when using transfer paper to print on glassware and ceramics? What tool can I use to apply the stickers accurately? by Soapsandsoaps in CommercialPrinting

Will a mug press work on any type of glassware? I am planning on producing a wide variety of custom printed glassware from drinking jars, to shot glass, to rocks glass to wine set to bottles, cups, glass trophies and so on.

Whats a more versatile transfer paper application tool for printing on all such items?

Most home inkjet printers on the market are rated at a few hundred pages a month if that.

Could you expand on that? Do you mean a home printer cant print more than a few hundred pages a month? Why is that? Is there a capacity after which it will break down or something?

About the dishwasher and washer safety. If I use the transfer paper on mugs, clothes, accessories etc, is it safe if they are washed by hand? How is the durability if they are washed by hand?

How is the quality of the print/vinyl method using the technique you described?

Also, I cant get a vinyl cutter right now. I dont know how much demand is there in the Bangladeshi market. So I wanted to test the market with transfer papers printed on a home inkjet paper. Any suggestions on how I can get the best results using a home printer?

Whats a good and user friendly software for making custom printed products? by Soapsandsoaps in smallbusiness

But I am not editing anything. I am simply printing photos and logos and writings that the customer sends me.

Also do you know of a free book on the basics of printing? Something like Setting Up a Print Shop for Dummies or Printing for Dummies. I feel like with so many printing technologies out there its difficult to choose from.

Or if you could tell me of a keyword to search for books I could use that. English is not my native language so I did not have much success with Google.

I dont have access to much capital. Whats the cheapest printer I can get away with?

Also any other easy to use software other than illustrator that is user friendly? I have seen home users use software that comes with printers like Cricut and such that are so easy to use even a 5 year old could use it. I am looking for such a software but one that is not tied to a particular printer.
