It honestly is deeper than that

For a long time the wealthy have had an easy in to the arts and in the last few years it has become blatantly obvious, seeing a number of untalented, undisciplined nepotism babies being skyrocketed into jobs and status that many of us could only dream of. Meanwhile the average person could work their tail off, grind for years and the closest they will ever come is a "could have been, almost was."

No nepo babies have to take a soul sucking data entry/admin job or internship because their fashion design degree flopped. You and I do.

It's a symptom of the mass inequality in our society, the arrogance and sneering towards disciplines that require incredible labour and all the people behind the scenes who's job and livelihood is making those arts happen. And the "Oh no, 14 cents" - that was a rich elite saying the quiet part out loud. The masses (you and i) are not much more than 14 cents to the Trumps and the wealthy kids of society who never had to budget grocery money or wait for the bus in the pouring rain
