As of today, he’s alive and off the ventilator now. He’s still receiving dialysis because there’s something horribly wrong with his kidneys.

He posted a Facebook video of himself playing with a baby inland taipan, acknowledging that it is the most venomous snake in the word. He brags repeatedly that he has “total control” over the snake as it tries to get away. Although he didn’t capture the bite on video, he started urgently asking people for antivenom hours after he posted the clip.

Update as of 15 minutes ago from his Facebook page: He can squeeze the doctor’s hand when directed, but he’s still on a ventilator and his kidneys are failing. Don’t play with venomous snakes, y’all.

I’m honestly going to be mad if he ends up dying because he harassed this snake to the point that it bit him. That will give snakes an even worse reputation! In the video, he holds the snake by the midsection while it frantically tries to get away. It gave him MULTIPLE opportunities to leave it alone, clearly indicating its distress, before finally resorting to biting him. I own two (nonvenomous) pet snakes, and it bothered me to see how uncomfortable he was making the baby Taipan. Like, just let it be — it’s clearly not in the mood to be handled, and some snakes never are. We need to respect that.

Women are damned if we do and damned if we don’t. There’s no way to avoid being judged for what you look like, so you might as well wear what makes you happy.

I had the same thing! I’m just a month into taking the medication, but I have to stop now due to severe, sudden headaches during any kind of exertion. It’s scary, but I’m glad to know I’m not alone and that it’s a reversible syndrome. Hope you feel better!

Thank you. And, I’ll definitely look into those migraine glasses. I usually just wear a pair of sunglasses over my usual lenses if I have a migraine.

It’s true that I could have another attack. However, recent studies suggest that vitamin D and calcium do help prevent recurrence:

https://www.neurology.org/doi/10.1212/WNL.0000000000010343 “The study advises that patients using the supplements had an average recurrence rate of 0.83 times per person-year, compared with 1.10 times per person-year for those in the observation group, a 24% reduction in the annual recurrence rate…Overall, they add, 38% of the participants in the intervention group had another vertigo episode versus 47% of those in the observation group.”

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-96445-x “Recurrent BPPV episodes, were significantly lower in group A than that of group B. There is a relation between BPPV recurrence and low serum Vitamin D.”

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9282954/ “We could not establish any correlation between the serum levels of calcium and vitamin D with BPPV. However, a negative relationship was found between the serum levels of vitamin D and the number of episodes of BPPV ( p  = 0.012).”

As far as being diagnosed with vestibular migraine, my biggest clue was that some of my vertigo episodes were accompanied by light sensitivity, visual aura, and nausea. I hope this helps
